Investment strategy is a topic,which attracts professional investors and even ordinary investors.Aiming at providing a standard and legible economic text,this report selects A Man for All Markets,a famous economic autobiography by Edward Thorp,as translation text,which introduces the strategy and wisdom of investment,containing a large quantity of professional knowledge,mathematical deduction and financial model.Aiming at practical problems like the termination of logistic relation,cultural ambiguity,fault of information and expressiveness and toughness of professional knowledge,caused by text characteristics,cultural difference as well as tangible and professional knowledge,this report gives an analysis to the complicated long sentences in the perspective of communicative translation.Then,this report respectively adapts conjunctions compensation,replace compensation,make-up compensation,annotation compensation and other strategies to solve problems above by making a semantic compensation for long sentences,verifying the effectiveness of semantic compensation strategy on dealing with long complicated sentence and improving the quality of translation.Through the case analysis and translation practice,it is proved that semantic compensation works in Chinese translation of economic text with guiding significance and practical value.
