A Report On The Translation Of The Defense Industrial Base(Chapter2)

With the continuous advancement of globalization,the demand of translation market has soared,and machine translation has become an important translation tool with its low cost and high efficiency.However,due to the limitations of machine translation,we can't rely on it completely.Therefore,it is necessary to combine machine translation with post-editing to guarantee the quality of translation.Therefore,it is necessary to combine translation and edit to guarantee the quality of translation.This translation report is based on books The Defense Industrial Base:Strategies for a Changing World translation task,which is completed in the form of machine translation and translation.In this process,it is difficult to understand the technical terms and long difficult sentences,to maintain the logicality and coherence of the discourse,and to reproduce the writing style of the original text.In this regard,we first classify the error types of machine translation,and find that errors are concentrated in lexical,syntactic,discourse and stylistic aspects.To this end,post-editing mainly focuses on vocabulary,syntax,discourse and style.The report is based on practical style of translation practice,which is completed in the form of machine translation and post-translation editing.In the process,I have not only accumulated the experience of editing,but also have a better understanding of the translation of the practical style of defense.It is hoped that this report will bring reference to the research of machine translation and post-translation editing,and also provide reference for the practice and research on practical text translation of the defense industry.
