A Report On E-C Interpreting Practice Of Iron-making Process On Blast Furnace

This interpreting practice is entrusted by Iron-making plant,Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd(JISCO).The entrusting party told the interpreter to interpret an audio of three hours from English to Chinese.It is a consecutive English to Chinese interpreting.The target language in the case needs to be accurate,easy to understand and meet the demand of industrial practice.The report is based on the interpreting practice.It can be divided into five parts.The first part is a brief introduction to the case in which the author has briefly introduced the entrusting party,their requirements and the process of the practice.The second part is task description where the author has described the process of the interpreting practice.The third part is the task process,which is mainly divided into the following three stages: preinterpreting,while interpreting and after interpreting.Preparation before interpreting includes interpreting tools,background knowledge and the preparation of professional terms.While interpreting includes process description and quality control.After interpreting includes evaluation from entrusting party and self evaluation.The fourth part is the case analysis,which is mainly composed of the difficulties and solutions.The fifth part concludes the lessons and achievement of the interpreting practice.From the practice,the author has mainly gained three achievements,knowledge of industrial production,knowledge of interpreting theories and strategies and experience in interpreting.From the practice,the author has realized that to finish a case smoothly and successfully,the interpreter needs to be highly prepared before practice.
