Well-based on the latest findings and progress in psychological cognitive area and second language acquisition field, the present study, for the first time, introduces the conception of cognitive control ability and Riding's Cognitive Control Model into interpreting study and creatively explores the potential relationship between one's cognitive control ability and his or her interpreting quality. The current study takes use of the Simon task and Color Stroop task to quantify cognitive control ability and aims to make an empirical study on the relationship between cognitive control ability and interpreting quality, trying to explore whether there is cognitive control advantage in interpreting quality,so as to bring some enlightenments to the enrollment and training of students(i.e.selecting standards and course setting),as well as evidence for future researches.Statistics used in this thesis come from three studies, namely recording and grading of the consecutive interpreting quality of tested participants, the Color Stroop task and the Simon task.By approaching interpreting from an interdisciplinary and more scientific way,the present study successfully discovers and demonstrates a valuable predictive indicator for the effectiveness of interpreting learning, thus not only making cognitive science advancement at a better service to the interpreting study, but also providing great help and guidance for the enrollment of interpreting students.
