The relationship between Bashu area and Zen Buddhism has a long history and deep origin.<Eminent monks in Shu area>said:"When a person talks about shu area,he can't ignore Zen Buddhism,vice versa.”Bashu area has made great contributions to the development and prosperity of Zen Buddhism.A large number of well-known at home and abroad Zen monks came from Bahsu area.Such as:Mazu daoyi,Yuanwu keqin and so on.There were also many Zen sects emerging and developing in Bashu area.For example,there were Zhaojue keqin Zen sect in Tang Dynasty,Tianche.ng shaoqi Zen sect in Song Dynasty,Shuanggui Zen sect and Juyun Zen sect in Ming and Qing Dynasty.So the research of Zen Buddhism in Bashu is of great value.The title of this essay is "The research of Poshan haiming's criticism of Juyun chuiwan.”Concentrating on several critical events between the founder of Poshan Zen sect—Poshan haiming and the founder of Juyun Zen sect—Juyun chuiwan,this essay tries to throw light on the differences between the Zen theories of the two Zen sects,and introduce their development,and dig out the real reason why those critical events happened.Based on what is mentioned above,we can have a clear understanding of the influence those critical events had made in history."Introduction" contains the reason why the author chose this theme,the experiences of Poshan haiming and Juyun chuiwan,recent researches about this theme,and finally the goals of author's work.Chapter one "Poshan's criticism of Juyun chuiwan" narrates two critical events in chronological order,analyses and summaries the details in them.Referring to the central issues of Zen Buddhism in the end of the Ming Dynasty,we can see the two Zen monks had different standpoints and views.Chapter two "the development of the critical events" presents the following of those events,and shows the attitude and reaction of other Zen monks of the two Zen sects.Chapter three "The discussion about the reasons of those critical events" first reviews a lot of researchers' opinions on this topic.Then the author tries to defend for or against these opinions with historical literature,and ultimately draws her own conclusion.Chapter four "The influence and the historical status of those critical events"introduces the development of the two Zen sects,and then clears up the misunderstanding of the real influence of those events,and finally gives an accurate historical status back to the events."Conclusion" reviews and summaries the content of this essay,and then prospects the future of the researches in this theme.
