Sichuan Drama Campaign In Anti-Japanese War Period

The research of anti-war culture and the culture saving the nation from extinction remains one of the most important tasks on which the anti-Japanese war history concentrates. After the breaking out of the anti-Japanese war, every kinds of saving-nation movement rose up in national wide. Among which the culture movement is the most active. As a new literary form, drama became the sharp weapon of saving the nation and played an important role in such rough situation. Due to the special geographic location, Sichuan formed the center of drama campaign. On the basis of the fruitiness of previous research, this paper devotes itself to presenting the panorama of the development on drama in Sichuan, through reviewing the state of different drama developmental period, the forming of Sichuan as the center of drama campaign and settling some relevant problems existing in the drama campaign in Sichuan.The first part introduces the origin of the Chinese drama and the Sichuan people's cognition towards drama and its cause. The second and third parts are the center of the dissertation; mainly discuss the background and development of the drama campaign in Sichuan. The fourth part analyzes the solutions of relevant questions and its reference to the drama in modern times. The fifth part shows the outstanding contribution made by the main representatives in Sichuan drama campaign. The sixth part deals with the achievements and deficiency of Sichuan drama campaign. The conclusion concentrates on the significance of Sichuan drama campaign to the victory to anti-Japanese war and the progress of the culture undertaking in south-west and the drama itself. In this process, the tentative analysis of the new-things-accepting consciousness and degree of Sichuan people and the considerations of the declining of the drama campaign are also involved.
