| Objective: The objective is to compare the clinical curative effect of the two different acupuncture depth of low back pain(LBP)with blood stasis syndrome,and to summarize the advantages and characteristics of the deep acupuncture treatment.Methods: Sixty-four LBP patients with blood stasis syndrome who met the diagnostic criteria of Chinese and Western medicine were randomly divided into light-acu group and deepacu group.Each group has thirty-two cases.The acupuncture points in this study were BL23,BL25,BL26,BL17,BL40,GB30,GB31,BL60.The deep-acu group had to take 2.5-3.0cun in BL23,BL25,BL26,and 1.0cun in other points,hoping producing a radioactive needle feeling from low back to the leg.While the acupuncture depth of light-acu group was about 0.5-1.0cun in each point.The whole treatment time was 20 minutes each time.Patients had to receive our acupuncture treatment 2 times a week and 10 times in total.“VAS scales”,“ODI scales”,and other “scales” for symptom scores were used to assess these patients' functional activities.The data would be collected after first treatment,fifth treatment,tenth treatment and 4 weeks after the whole treatment,aiming to compare the difference between the two groups.SPSS23.0 software package was usd to analyzed the data and regulated the effect.Results: The baseline: Compare age,gender,current disease course,BMI,the initial symptom scores,the initial scores of “VAS scales” and “ODI scales” bewteen the two groups.It had indicated that their baseline consistent,and is comparable(P>0.05).The instant effect: After the first acupuncture treatment,the score of “VAS scales” reduced(P<0.05),as well as the straight leg-raising test score improved(P<0.05).The instant effect of deep-acu group is better than that of light-acu group(P<0.05).Clinical cure rate and total effective rate:After one course(5 times),the clinical cure rate was 18.75% in the light-acu group and 21.88% in the deep-acu group,with no significant difference in statistic between the two groups(P>0.05);the total effective rate was 90.63% in the light-acu group and 93.75% in the deep-acu group and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After two courses(10 times),the clinical cure rate was 21.88% in the light-acu group and 46.88% in the deep-acu group,which has significant difference in statistic(P<0.05);the total effective rate was 93.75% in the light-acu group and 96.88% in the deep-acu group with no statistical difference(P>0.05).The cumulative effect: After one course(5 times)and two courses(10 times),the VAS score of low back and leg and the ODI score in two groups were all significantly reduced(P<0.05);also the score of straight leg-raising test,muscle strength and tendon reflex were significantly improved(P<0.05).Among all these scales,the deep-acu group had a better improvement in the VAS score of low back and leg,the ODI score,the straight leg-raising test and the tendon reflex than that of the light-acu group(P<0.05).While there was no statistically difference in muscle strength(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)Acupuncture can immediately relief the syndrome of LBP with blood stasis.The deep-acu treatment has a better instant effect for analgesia and straight leg-raising test.(2)There is a curative effect for acupuncture of LBP with blood stasis syndrome.Comparing with the light acupuncture,the deep acupuncture acts more excellently on reducing pain and ameliorating straight leg-raising test,tendon reflex and ODI score.Meanwhile the effect of the two groups on muscle strength was consistent.(3)Two different acupuncture feelings were both effective for the treatment of LBP of blood stasis syndrome,which could effectively treat LBP.The total effective rate between the two groups was consistent.But after two course(10times),the deep acupuncture treatment had a higher clinical cure rate than the light acupuncture treatment. |
