Clinical Observation On The Efficacy Of Xiaozhi Decoction Combined With Metformin In The Treatment Of Obese Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Objective:Taking metformin as a positive control,to observe the clinical efficacy ofXiaozhi Decoction combined with metformin in the treatment of obese polycystic ovary syndrome.Methods:78 patients with obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome with TCM syndrome of kidney yang deficiency,deficiency of phlegm and blood stasis,were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,39 patients in each group.Treatment group was given metformin tablets combined with Xiaozhi decoction,and the control group was given metformin tablets.The total course of treatment is 12 weeks.Changes in TCM symptom scores,BMI,waist,menstrual cycle,ovulation,and related laboratory parameters?FSH,LH,E₂,T,FPG,FINS,2h PPG,2h INS,uterus and accessory Doppler ultrasound?were observed before and after the treatment.Observing the possible adverse reactions during the two treatments.Results:1.The total effective rate of the treatment group?77.42%?was better than that of the control group?40.00%??P<0.01?.2.The TCM symptoms in the treatment group were improved compared with those before treatment.The treatment group was better than the control group in the recovery of late menstruation,physical obesity,constipation,menstrual color and blood clots,lumbosacral pain,lower abdominal pain,and dizziness.?all P<0.01?.3.The improvement of the menstrual cycle in the treatment group?83.87%?was significantly better than the control group?53.33%??P<0.01?.4.The treatment group improved the ovulation?80.00%?better than the control group?51.61%??P<0.05?.5. The T level was significantly lower after treatment?P<0.01?,and the treatment group was better than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant.In the treatment group,the recovery rate of serum testosterone?83.33%?was higher in the subjects with high testosteroneemia than in the control group?30.00%??P<0.05?.6.The two sets of LH and LH/FSH decreased compared with before treatment,FSH and E₂increased compared with before treatment;The improvement of FSH,E₂ and LH/FSH levels in the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group?P<0.01?.In the two groups of patients with LH/FSH>2,the reduction of LH and LH/FSH in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group?P<0.01?.The recovery rate of LH/FSH in the treatment group?100%?was better than that in the control group?50%?.7.The recovery rate of ovarian morphology was similar in the Doppler ultrasound examination after treatment,the difference was not statistically significant?P>0.05?.8.The two sets of BMI and waist circumference of the subject decreased than before treatment;treatment group was significantly better than the control group.?P<0.01?.?P<0.01?.9.The FPG,2h PPG,FINS,2h INS and HOMA-IR indexes of the two groups were lower than those before treatment.The decrease of FINS,2h NS and HOMA-IR index in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group?P<0.01 or P<0.05?.The reduction of FPG and 2h PPG was similar?P>0.05?.10.There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups?P>0.05?.Conclusion:Combination of Xiaozhi Decoction and Metformin can effectively treat obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome with deficiency of kidney yang,deficiency of phlegm and blood stasis,significantly improve the TCM symptoms of subjects,improve menstrual cycle,promote ovulation,and reduce T,LH/FSH,FINS,2h INS level and HOMA-IR,increase the levels of FSH and E₂,decrease the LH level of LH/FSH>2subjects,and effectively reduced BMI and waist circumference.The curative effect was better than that of metformin hydrochloride monotherapy group.There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups.It is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
