Objective: Observing the clinical effect of muscle abdominal and acupoints acupuncture for foot inversion after stroke and evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of it in the treatment of patients' quality of life caused by varus after stroke compared with simple acupuncture at conventional acupuncture points.Method:All the patients in this study were from the outpatients and wards of acupuncture and moxibustion department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who were diagnosed which met the diagnostic crit-eria and inclusion criteria for varus after stroke. The 66 patients who met the above conditions were divided into the treatment group and the matchedl group according to the random number table method, with 33 patients in each group. Both groups received routine str-oke care. The matched group: referring to the Ninth Edition of the National Textbook of Acupuncture and Moxibustion on stroke-main and collateral channels-incompetence with the low limbs and the foot inversion.Main acupoint: DU26,p C6(bilateral),Sp6(bilateral),HT1(bilateral),LU5(bilateral).Matching points: the affected side of the GB30,Sp9,GB34,GB31,ST36,BL40,ST41,GB40 through KI6.The treatment group:on the basis of the control group, the matching acupoint GB36,GB37,GB38,GB39 take the place of GB31,ST36,BL40,ST41 of the control group. Both of the groups are evaluated on The improved Ashworth spasm scale(MAS),Berg balance scale(BBS)and Holden walking function classification(HWA)are recorded the foot varus Angle before and after tre-atment.Sp SS 22.0 statistical software was used to process all kinds of data of two groups to comprehensively evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture about foot invers-ion after stroke.Results:1.Both of the two treatments are effective in improving the Angle of foot varus and have similar effects(comparion within groups:p<0.05,comparison among groups:p>0.05);2.There was a difference in the grade distribution of Ashworth spasticity scale(MAS)between the two groups of classes after therapy,According to the specific analysis ofthe grade improvement in each group of the MAS scale, the experiment group was better than the matched group.3.Both of the two therapy are effective in improving the balance and have similar effects(comparion within groups:p<0.05,comparison among groups:p>0.05);4.There was a difference in the grade distribution of Holden walking function classification(HWA)between the two groups after therapy.According to the specific analysis of the grade improvement in each group of the HWA scale, there was a difference in the grade improvement in the two groups after treatment(p< 0.05),and the treatment group was better than the matched group.Conclusion:1.The method of Muscle Abdominal and Acupoints Acupuncture along the Gallbladder Meridian can improve the disorder relationship between the flexor and extensor muscles and adjust the imbalance of Yin and Yang between the internal and external tendons of the lower limbs.Meanwhile it can improve the clinical symptoms and dysfunction of foot inversion after stroke.2.This method is similar to the standard treatment in the control group in improving the balance function and the Angle of foot varus.3.In terms of relieving lower limb muscle spasm and enhancing walking function, the treatment group was better than the control group.
