Objective To understand the status of medical treatment for epileptic patients in Chongqing,so as to improve the status of medical treatment for patients with epilepsy and promoting the construction of graded diagnosis and treatment.Methods A total of 9 districts(counties)in Chongqing,3tertiary hospitals,5 tertiary hospitals,5 secondary hospitals,and 6 primary medical institutions were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey on281 patients with epilepsy.In-depth interviews with a total of 50 patients with epilepsy patients and their families,neurologists,medical insurance workers.Results 92.96% of the patients see a doctor to prescribe medicine,but 70.74% of the patients at the first tertiary hospitals,in general,patients with annual average outpatient drug treatment was 4750.26±339.599 yuan,tertiary hospital 5799.32±5783.139 yuan,1845.17±196.743 yuan,much higher than the secondary hospital drugs,the expenses incurred in the patient clinic are not reimbursed,there are significant differences in medicines,inspection methods,etc.between institutions at all levels,and the community function and medical couplet of two-way referral is missing.Conclusion Patients with epilepsy may have problems such as "structural" difficulty in seeing a doctor,poor willingness of the first-level consultation,and inappropriate medical insurance compensation methods.It is recommended to use the existing graded diagnosis and treatment platform to optimize health management services,correctly promote the first-level consultation,and strengthen health education.Adjust the way of medical insurance compensation to improve the status of medical treatment and even survival of patients with epilepsy.
