| Nursing work is bestowed with a unique and deep moral attribute.Compared with doctors,nurses usually need to fully engage in patients’ life scenarios and always have closer contact with patients;therefore,nurses are required to have noble moralities to better take care of patients who suffer from illness.For nursing students of Health School who are going to take up nursing posts,in addition to being technically skilled and professional,their professional ethics quality is essential not only to the quality of their nursing work,but also to the future development of China’s primary health care.Actually,as a nursing teacher who has been working in the Health School of J City for nearly 10 years,the author has found many problems in the past two years when docking with training hospitals of various counties and districts.How is the overall performance of nursing students? What problems does it reflect on the education of nursing schools? With those issues,after collecting and analyzing numerous literature,and making comparisons of the vocational education on nursing students between Chinese and western medical schools,the author found several valuable experience worthy of reference from the western medical schools,for instance,attach importance to the humanities related curriculum construction,involve ethical knowledge into the social activities and clinical practice,and fully integrate cooperation between schools and enterprises.In order to understand the current situation of vocational ethics quality education for nursing students,the author conducted a quantitative research on questionnaire survey and a qualitative research on interviews with nursing students of Health School of J City,who were in their third year and just finished their internship.Among them,the questionnaire survey mainly included two questionnaires,namely,Questionnaire of Occupational Ethics Quality of Nursing Students and Questionnaire of Impact Factors of Occupational Ethics Quality of Nursing Students,both compiled by WANG Bo;the former Questionnaire contained 32 items in three dimensions,which were occupational values,occupational ethics cognition and occupational behavior,adopting Likert5 rating;the latter Questionnaire included teachers’ teaching,behavioral training and environmental influence,with the purpose of investigating the acquisition ways and frequencies of occupational ethics among nursing students.According to the survey,nursing students performed poorly in the three dimensions of occupational values,occupational ethics cognition and occupational behavior.This was because there were prominent problems among teachers’ professional ethics,teaching methods and contents,internal relations among various subjects,and the combination of theory and clinical practice teaching.Therefore,considering the overall development of nursing students,especially how Secondary Nursing Professional School can improve the occupational ethics education,the author proposed the following suggestions: 1)strengthen the education team who is working on the education of nursing vocational ethics quality;2)optimize the curriculum system of nursing vocational ethics quality education;3)renovate the teaching content of nursing vocational ethics quality education;4)attach more importance to the cultivation function of internship to nursing vocational ethics. |
