Objective:This randomized control study used Chinese medicinal herbs“Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang and Bu-Yang-Huan-Wu-Tang”to treat mild to moderate OSAHS patients with spleen deficiency and phlegm-stasis syndrome by TCM,in order to explore the mechanism and provide more effective references for the clinical treatment of the disease.Method:72 adult patients who were diagnosed as mild to moderate OSAHS accordance with polysomnography?PSG?and spleen deficiency and phlegm-stasis syndrome accordance with TCM were selected and randomly divided into two groups in Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital of Fuzhou during February to December in 2019.36 patients of them in the experimental group accepted the decoction of traditional Chinese medicine“Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang and Bu-Yang-Huan-Wu-Tang”treatment and the other 36 patients in the control group accepted lifestyle guidance treatment. The Epworth Sleeping Scale?ESS?scores,TCM symptom scores,apnea-hypopnea index?AHI?,night-time lowest arterial oxygen saturation?LSaO2?,oxygen desaturation index?ODI?and incidence of adverse reactions were compared before and after the treatment.Result:1.The clinical efficacy after treatment was evaluated according to the Nimodipine method. In the treatment group, there was 0 recovery case,12 obvious effective cases,14 effective cases, and 10 ineffective cases, the total effective rate was 72.2%.In the control group, there was 0recovery case,1 obvious effective case,12 effective cases and 23 ineffective cases, the total effective rate was 36.1%.The curative effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference?P<0.05?.2.There was no significant difference in TCM syndrome scores between the two groups before treatment?P>0.05?,which means they were comparable. The treatment group was better than the control group in reducing the total scores of TCM syndromes, and the difference between them was statistically significant?P<0.05?,which was indicating that“Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang and Bu-Yang-Huan-Wu-Tang”had a significant advantage for mild to moderate OSAHS patients with spleen deficiency and phlegm-stasis syndrome.3.There was no significant difference in the scores of AHI,night-time LSaO2,ODI and ESS between the two groups before treatment?P>0.05?,which means they were comparable. And there was a significant improvement in the scores of AHI,night-time LSaO2,ODI and ESS in the treatment group after treatment, with a statistically significant difference?P<0.05?;There was a slight improvement after treatment in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant?P>0.05?;After treatment, there was a significant difference between them?P<0.05?.The results showed that“Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang and Bu-Yang-Huan-Wu-Tang”could reduce the oxygen reduction events and improve sleep hypoxemia at night.4.There was no obvious discomfort and anaphylaxis in the two groups during the treatment. Conclusion:In the treatment of mild to moderate OSAHS patients with spleen deficiency and phlegm-stasis syndrome,“Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang and Bu-Yang-Huan-Wu-Tang”could significantly reduce the scores of AHI and ODI,and improve the night-time LSaO2 to some extent, thereby improved nocturnal hypoxemia and daytime sleepiness. In terms of the judgment of the curative effect of TCM syndromes, the overall symptoms after treatment and the quality of life was markedly improved, and no obvious side effects were found in the treatment process, which showed the TCM concept of treatment with syndrome differentiation and the clinical advantages of safety and affordability.
