Clinical Observation Of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction Addition For The Treatment Of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome With Phlegm And Stasis

Objective : To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction Addition for the treatment of OSAHS with phlegm and stasis by observing its effects on improving the clinical syndrome,reducing the apnea hypopnea index,increasing oxygen saturation,in an attempt to provide effective prescription and application for the clinical treatment of OSAHS.Methods : Patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were collected as the study subjects.The sample size was estimated at 150 patients based on the clinical statistics regarding efficacy of TCM treatment for OSAHS.All the patients meeting the eligibility criteria were randomly assigned to the treatment group and control group,each including 75 patients,The control group was treated with position therapy(sleeping in lateral position),the treatment group was treated with position therapy(sleeping in lateral position)+Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decpction Addition,both groups were treated for 4 weeks.Defining the day of initial clinic visit as the start date of patient treatment and observation,the TCM syndromes score,apnea hypopnea index score,the date of the lowest oxygen saturation were recorded for both groups pre-treatment and 4 weeks later of treatment,so as to compare and evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety in both groups.Results :(1)The curative effect of TCM syndrome: the total effectiveness of treatment was 85.71%,while the total effectiveness of comparison group was67.14%,There are significant statistical differences on efficacy between the two groups(p < 0.05).(2)The curative effect of OSAHS: The total effectiveness of treatment was 85.71%,while the total effectiveness of comparison group was57.14%,There are significant statistical differences on efficacy between the two groups(p<0.05).(3)The scores of TCM syndrome: the scores of TCM syndrome of the two groups were decreased significantly than before treatment(p < 0.05),the scores of TCM syndrome of the treatment group were decreased significantly compared with the control group(p<0.05).(4)The figures of AHI: the figures of AHI of the two groups were decreased significantly than before treatment(p< 0.05),the figures of AHI were decreased significantly compared with the control group(p <0.05).(5)The figures of the lowest Sa O2: the figures of the lowest Sa O2 of the two groups were increased significantly than before treatment(p< 0.05),the figures of the lowest Sa O2 were increased significantly compared with the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction Addition can significantly improve the clinical syndrome,reduce the AHI,increase the lowest Sa O2.The clinical effect of Banxia Baizhu Tianma Decoction Addition is good and it can prevent future development of OSAHS.What is more,its composition is safe.
