Objective: By observing the traditional Chinese medicine decoction before and after treatment of “Xifengshuyan Decoction”,the blepharospasm strength grading(Cohen grading),clinical symptoms,TCM syndrome scores, and the safety of blood routine examination, liver and kidney function in patients with blepharospasm for the wind formation from blood deficiency, evaluation of “Xifengshuyan Decoction ” effectiveness and safety. Methods: A randomized parallel controlled study method was used in this research.A total of 74 cases of blepharospasm for the wind formation from blood deficiency, observation group(37 cases)and the control group(37 cases).During the treatment period, the control group was given a combination treatment of “Vitamin B1 tablet+ATP tablet+Oryzanol Tablets+Calcium Gluconate tablets”.The observation group was treated with “Xifengshuyan Decoction”.Both the two groups were treated for 4 weeks.Observed the change of the Cohen grading, clinical symptoms,TCM syndrome scores with two groups of patients after treatment of 4 weeks ago,and blood routine examination, liver and renal function test, such as safety index, and carries on the statistical analysis of the objective evaluation of“Xifengshuyan Decoction” for treatment efficacy and safety of the patients.Results:1.74 patients are included in this research, among which 67 patients finish the observation for 4 drop in the observation group and 3 drop in the control group;with the drop ratio being 9.46%.2.Before treatment, the two groups of gender, age,Cohen grading, the distribution of individual symptom score and symptom score compared not statistically significant(P>0.05),comparable.3.In the observation group, the improvement of blepharospasm strength grading(Cohen grading)was better after treatment than before treatment, and there was a significant difference(P<0.01);in the total score of TCM syndromes, scores were lower after treatment than before, and there was a significant difference(P<0.01).4.In the control group, the improvement of blepharospasm strength grading(Cohen grading)was better after treatment than before treatment, and there was a significant difference(P<0.01);in the total score of TCM syndromes, scores were lower after treatment than before, and there was a significant difference(P<0.01).5.After treatment, the observation group was better than the control group in improving the strength of the blepharospasm strength grading(Cohen grading),there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).6.After treatment, the observation group was better than the control group in improving the strength of the total score of TCM syndromes, there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).7.Overall efficacy analysis showed that the total effective rate was 90.91% in the observation group after treatment, which was better than the total effective rate of 67.65% in the control group, with significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).8.In terms of safety,no adverse events occurred in all patients during the treatment,no obvious abnormal changes were observed in blood routine examination, liver and renalfunction test, and no statistical significance was found in the two groups of blood routine examination, liver and renal function test function(P<0.05).Conclusions: 1.“Xifengshuyan Decoction” is effective in the treatment of patients with blepharospasm for the wind formation from blood deficiency, and is reducing the scores of TCM syndromes and grading the blepharospasm strength grading(Cohen grading). And to improve clinical symptoms is more advantageous than using “Oryzanol Tablets + Vitamin B1 tablet +ATP tablet + Calcium Gluconate tablets”.2.“Xifengshuyan Decoction” found no significant adverse reactions, with good security.
