Levels And Determinants Of Public Trust In Traditional Chinese Medicine Among Chinese Residents

As a treasure of Chinese traditional culture,TCM has a wide accepter and profound belief foundation in China.Since the introduction of western medicine into China,the problem of declining social trust in the medical and health field has also been verified in the field of TCM,which is regarded as "fake science" and needs to be abolished.In the field of academic research,there are disputes about the levels of trust in TCM.In terms of empirical research on the determinants of TCM trust,quantitative analysis based on large sample survey is relatively scarce.Based on this situation,this article selects the ISSP international health project survey data in 2011,Chinese public trust and satisfaction in medical health care data in 2016,take the theory of Public Trust and Intergroup Contact as theoretical basis,using SPSS 24.0 software through quantitative analysis,like Chi square test,comparative analysis,descriptive analysis,correlation analysis and multi-regression analysis,examining the levels of public trust in TCM among Chinese residents,the relationship between Chinese and western medicine and the determinants of public trust in TCM.The research conclusions are that TCM has not achieved a matching position with western medicine,and the level of trust in TCM is also facing a downward trend,and the satisfaction of TCM outpatient visits is a significant determinant influencing the public trust in TCM as a mediation variable.Based on these conclusions,this paper presents policy recommendations as follows: strengthen the training of TCM talents and improve the quality of health services,promote the status of TCM,encourage the integration of TCM and Western medicine.
