Study On Health Information Seeking Behaviors Of Hypertensive Patients In Guizhou Province

Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients in Guizhou Province and analyze the influencing factors,and put forward countermeasures and suggestions in order to provide reference for information intervention in the prevention and treatment of hypertension in Guizhou Province and other areas.Methods Based on literature research,this paper using quantitative and qualitative methods studied the health information query behavior of hypertensive patients in guizhou province.Using the convenient sampling method,5 sample areas were randomly selected from Guizhou Province,and a third-level hospital was conveniently selected from every sample area.Every hospital was distributed 120 questionnaires,and totally 600 questionnaires were distributed,and 536 valid questionnaires were collected.The questionnaire was 89.33% effective.The questionnaire on health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients includes four aspects: basic personal situation,information demand content,ways of getting information,obstacles of seeking information.The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were good,the KM0 coefficient was 0.832,and the Cronbach ? coefficient was 0.778.Descriptive analysis,chi-square test,rank sum test and multiple linear regression analysis were performed using SPSS18.0 software.Using the purpose sampling method,based on the theoretical saturation principle,15 patients were selected from the sample questionnaires for semi-structured interviews.The subject analysis method was used to analyze the original data of interviews,and to refine the factors which affecting the health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients in Guizhou Province.Results The top six health information which is most popular with hypertensive patients of Guizhou Province were treatment,adverse drug reaction,knowledge of prevention and health care,other treatment methods,public evaluation of doctors,complications;the most popular ways of getting information were medical staff,traditional media,mission or lecture,family or relatives,paper data and network,The network health information method is used at a relatively low frequency;the main obstacles for seeking health information were not being able to use information seeking tools,do not understand medical terminology,poor health,and a large amount of cluttered information.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that The main factors which affecting the health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients in Guizhou Province were age,residence and degree of education.Analyze the qualitative data and extract seven Inclusion factors and three aggregate factors that affect the health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients in Guizhou Province,Inclusion factors refer to age,education level,place of residence,electronic health information literacy,attitude,ease of use and reliability of information resources,and aggregate factors refer to sociodemographic characteristics,psychological factors,and information resource characteristics.Conclusion Information needs of hypertensive patients of Guizhou Province were diversified;the way to seek health information mainly through traditional interpersonal ways such as doctors,and new media network technology were less used,there was a "digital gap",especially in age,education level,place of residence;there are many obstacles in the process of seeking health information.Social demographic characteristics,psychological factors,and information environment factors affected the health information seeking behavior of hypertensive patients in Guizhou Province.We suggested propose on four aspects from implementting personalized electronic health information literacy education,innovativing health information service model of hypertension patients,correctting their health information inquiry attitude,and standardizing the network information environment.
