Objective: To systematically evaluate the effect of periodontal basic treatment on blood lipid level in patients with hyperlipidemia and periodontitis. Methods:English databases such as Pubmed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library, web of science and Chinese databases such as China How Net,Wanfang database and biomedical database were searched by computer. The retrieval time was from the database establishment to August 2019,and was included in the clinical trial study on the effect of periodontal basic treatment on the blood lipid level of patients with hyperlipidemia and periodontitis. Two evaluators independently selected literature, extracted data, evaluated quality and cross checked, and then analyzed it with Stata 12 software. The mean difference(WMD)is used for measurement data.If the difference is large, the standardized mean difference(SMD)is selected.Quantitative data in single arm test using ES.Results: A total of 11 clinical studies were included, including 4 randomized controlled trials and 7 single arm trials.Meta analysis of randomized trial study showed that the blood lipid level of patients with hyperlipidemia and periodontitis improved after basic periodontal treatment.TC content decreased(WMD=-0.221,95% CI [-0.409,-0.032],P=0.022),TG content decreased(WMD=-0.410,95% CI [-0.566,-0.254],P=0.000),HDL-C content increased(WMD=0.106,95% CI [-0.059,-0.153],P=0.000),LDL-C content decreased(SMD=-0.388,95% CI [-0.713,-0.064],P=0.019).The results were statistically significant.Because of the differences in sample selection and the heterogeneity among the studies, there are some limitations in the results of the meta-analysis.The final meta-analysis results were: due to the large heterogeneity, the random effect model was used to integrate all the literatures. The results showed that the TC content in the patients with hyperlipidemia and periodontitis decreased(ES=-0.303,95%CI [-0.378,-0.228],P=0.000),TG content decreased(ES=-0.328,95%CI [-0.466,-0.191],P=0.000),HDL-C content increased(ES=0.141,95%CI [0.074,0.207],P= 0.000),the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference in LDL-C content between before and after treatment(ES=-0.125,95%CI[-0.466,0.215],P=0.471),the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Periodontal basic treatment can improve the blood lipid level of patients with hyperlipidemia and periodontitis. There is a positive correlation between periodontitis and hyperlipidemia.
