Objective Periodontitis is one of the most common diseases of oral medicine, clinical uses two-dimensional imaging methods for patients with chronic periodontitis, after X-ray image magnification and distortion are easy, the actual degree can not be accurately observed the changes of bone mineral density and bone tooth groove, but can not clearly show the structure and buccal lingual bone wall bone in the destruction of the situation,so the evaluation of diagnosis and treatment and effect of periodontitis caused great distress.Although CT can accurately reflect the need to observe the site, but also can be used to measure the image on the image, but because of the high cost of shooting, radiation dose and other reasons to limit the application.Cone beam computed tomography(cone beam tomography,CBCT),is a new type of CT technology computed. The imaging principle of the utility model is that the low energy X-ray cone beam is used for the 360 degree scanning of patients needing to be photographed, and the utility model has the advantages of low radiation quantity, short scanning time, simple operation, clear and adjustable image,etc..The purpose of this study is to observe the application of CBCT in patients with chronic periodontitis tooth week changes in the treatment of the alveolar bone after the foundation,to explore the application value of CBCT in the evaluation of chronic periodontitis lesions. Methods Randomly selected 50 cases of chronic periodontitis patients with left lower first molars, the height and density of CBCT were measured four times before and after periodontal treatment, patients with mesial buccal and lingual four sites cemento enamel junction to the alveolar ridge distance and alveolar interval in the near and far top and buccal lingual alveolar crest and apical level to evaluate the change of alveolar bone, periodontal treatment of alveolar bone. Results There was no significant difference in the alveolar bone height between the mesial and distal sites of the first molar in patients with chronic periodontitis before and after four weeks of periodontal treatment(P>0.05).First times and second times after periodontal basic treatment had not significantly increased bone mineral density(P>0.05),third times after periodontal basic treatment of bone density was increased, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),fourth times after periodontal basic treatment of bone density was third times after treatment increased, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion CBCT can clearly display the anatomic relationship between the teeth, alveolar fossa and mandible of space;especially on the observation of buccal and lingual bone density is the traditional imaging methods can not be compared;measurement of distal alveolar bone height is almost the same with the height measuring probe, according to the number of reliable and repeatable noninvasive, absorption, damage to the teeth and bone morphology evaluation of CBCT is better than that of two-dimensional imaging technology.Based on the left 50 cases of chronic periodontitis patients with a molar measurement analysis showed that patients with chronic periodontitis after periodontal treatment improve the alveolar bone height remained unchanged, but the alveolar bone density increased, indicating that after treatment of the alveolar bone height and bone resorption without weight loss. Therefore,CBCT can provide the imaging data of the patients with chronic periodontitis before and after treatment of alveolar bone resorption and bone mineral density.Using this CBCT technology can clearly and conveniently and accurately observed in patients with chronic periodontitis after periodontal treatment and oral health care knowledge of the alveolar bone,a reliable method for CBCT can be used as a basis for evaluation of changes of alveolar bone after treatment of chronic periodontitis.
