Objective:Objective to investigate the effect of orthokeratology(OK mirror)on ocular surface and intraocular pressure in juvenile myopia patients.Materials and methods:From December 2018 to December 2019,adolescent myopia patients wearing OK glasses in the matching Department of Yan'an University Affiliated Hospital were selected as the study object. There were 30 cases(60 eyes),14men(26 eyes),17 women(34 eyes),age(8-17)years old,average(11.1 ± 2.5)years old, myopia degree before wearing glasses(-1.00-6.00)d,average(3.05 ± 1.04)d.According to sex, age, myopia degree and corneal curvature,we observed them respectively. All subjects were required to wear OK glasses at night for more than 8 hours. The patients were reexamined before wearing glasses,1 day,1 week,1 month and 3 months after wearing glasses. The examination items were visual acuity, corneal topography, intraocular pressure, tear rupture time(but),tear secretion, corneal epithelial fluorescein staining.Result:1.After wearing glasses, the equivalent diopter of each time point was significantly lower than before wearing glasses, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).After wearing glasses, the diopter decreased the fastest in one week and became stable after one month.2.The corneal curvature at each time point after wearing glasses was significantly lower than that before wearing glasses(P < 0.05).The curvature of cornea decreased the fastest in one week after wearing glasses, and became stable one month later.3.The intraocular pressure at each time point after wearing glasses was significantly lower than that before wearing glasses, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).There was a significant difference in intraocular pressure between 1 day and 1week after wearing glasses(P < 0.05).Intraocular pressure decreased the fastest in one week after wearing glasses, and became stable after one week. There was significant difference in intraocular pressure before wearing glasses in different gender groups(P <0.05),but there was no significant difference in intraocular pressure at all time points after wearing glasses(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in intraocular pressure before wearing glasses, one day,one week and one month after wearing glasses between the younger group and the elder group(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference in intraocular pressure three months after wearing glasses(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in intraocular pressure between low myopia group and middle myopia group before wearing glasses, one day after wearing glasses and one week after wearing glasses(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in intraocular pressure between low myopia group and middle myopia group at one month and three months after wearing glasses(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in intraocular pressure between low curvature group and high curvature group before and after wearing glasses(P < 0.05).4.But of all the follow-up time after wearing glasses was significantly shorter than that before wearing glasses(P < 0.05).But decreased the fastest in one day after wearing glasses, then increased gradually, and became stable after one week. There was no significant difference in buts before and after wearing glasses in different gender groups(P > 0.05).There were significant differences in the buts between the low age group and the old age group, the low degree myopia group and the moderate myopia group, the low curvature group and the high curvature group at all time points before and after wearing glasses(P < 0.05).5.There was no significant difference in the amount of tear secretion between before and after wearing glasses(P = 0.981 > 0.05).6.Before and after wearing glasses,6 eyes(10%),9 eyes(15%)at one week,11eyes(18.3%)at one month and 8 eyes(13.3%)at three months, all of which were grade I without grade II,III and IV staining. No special treatment was carried out and the symptoms disappeared after close observation.Conclusion:1.The short-term wearing of OK mirror can effectively reduce the diopter and corneal curvature, and quickly achieve the purpose of myopia correction.During wearing the mirror, the non-contact tonometer value and tear film stability decreased, both of which occurred in one week after wearing the mirror, with fewer complications and high safety.2.The decrease of intraocular pressure was related to gender, age, diopter and corneal curvature.3.he decline of tear film stability was related to age, diopter and corneal curvature, but not to gender.
