Data Analysis For The Treatment Of Acupuncture And Moxibustion Of Periarthritis Of Shoulder By Professor Fang Jianqiao

Objective Adopt the approach of data analysis to study the rules of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment on periarthritis of shoulder of professor Fang Jianqiao.The study preliminarily summarizes those common acupoints applied in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder and supply experiences for learners.It does reap the benefit for inheriting and further cultivating clinical experiences and the academic thought of professor Fang.In addition,it provides an effective reference for working on the clinical experiences and academic thoughts of the prestigious veteran doctors of TCM.Method According to the standards of the inclusion and exclusion,we collected the patients'acupuncture prescription data of periarthritis of shoulder in professor Fang's outpatient department.Then used Excel and Clementine 12.0 data mining software to analyze the patients' clinical symptoms,the frequency and the position of points,corresponding meridians and association rules as well as cluster analysis amid points.Last but not least,summarized professor Fang's clinical experience and academic thought of treating periarthritis of shoulder.Result By establishing a database of acupuncture treatment of periarthritis of shoulder,we collected 32 cases involving 200 acupuncture prescriptions.According to the result of data analysis:(1)The frequency analysis showed that there were 15 points adopted in the treatment,and the overall frequency is 1755.The data analysis of frequency demonstrated that the most commonly used points were Hegu,Waiguan,Jianyu,Jianliao,Binao,Quchi;(2)The major points were belonged to Large Intestine Meridian,Triple burner channel,Small Intestine Meridian;(3)The correlation among Jianyu,Jianliao,Binao,Quchi was the strongest;(4)According to the results of the clustering analysis,we obtained 3 valid clusters:The first one involved Large Intestine Meridian and Triple burner ehannel,which included Hegu,Waiguan,Jianyu,Jianliao,Binao,Quchi.The second cluster contained Naoshu,Ashi and Jianqian,involving three Yang channels of the hand,Gallbladder meridian and Lung meridian.The third cluster included Naohui,Tianfu,Jugu,Jianjin and Jianzhen.The applications of additional treatment factors included in the analysis were as follows:(1)The result of frequency showed that five additional treatments were included,which were moxibustion therapy,cupping therapy,TENS,EA and analgesic injection,according to the frequency ranging from high to low;As for the duration of therpy,it mainly refered to 30 minutes and 60minutes;(2)there was a relatively high correlation between the pre-adhesion period and TENS as well as the 30minutes' duration of treatment;The adhesion period was to some extent related to TENS,EA,30 minutes' duration of treatment and 60 minutes' duration.Conclusion(1)The results of data analysis is basically characterized by the combination of Large Intestine Meridian and Triple burner channel,followed by Small Intestine Meridian.The most widely used group of acupoint maintains Jianyu,Jianliao,Binao,Quchi.In addition,the further differentiation of the meridians,together with the combined application of local and remote acupoints,are also instrumental to enhance curative effect.Additionally,Hegu and Waiguan are both the inevitably used acupoint.(2)On the basic application of acupuncture,combined therapies are also used to treat periarthritis of shoulder.The common treatment contains TENS,moxibustion and cupping,and the duration of therapy is 30 minutes.When it comes to the patients suffering from adhesion period,severe pain and long-term course,EA can be used as substitute,analgesic injection can be taken into consideration,and the duration could be prolonged up to 60 minutes.
