ObjectiveThe study is about to make a comparative analysis between Balance Acupuncture and Traditional Acupuncture in the treatment of frozen shoulder in analgesic effect through statistical analysis of Large sample randomized controlled trial. Evaluating the difference between two therapies is also given in this article to provide the most reliable basis for the effectiveness of Balance Acupuncture treating of frozen shoulder.Methods249clinical cases of frozen shouler patients were included in this trial. We collected their tables on observation, made related information input the Access database. Vas ratings, shoulder pain, localized muscle trigger points were used as indicators to make a comprehensive analysis of clinical trial data and evaluate their improvement of shoulder pain and observe the the difference between balance acupuncture and traditional acupuncture in analgesia effect, which provides further theoretical basis for Balance Acupuncture therapy.Results1A baseline analysisBaseline comparison is made in patients on everything before treatment in both groups. Then everything has no difference resulted by statisticl process (P>0.05). It shows that two groups are comparable before treatment.2Comparison of analgesic effect inside Balance Acupuncture group and Traditional Acupuncture group1) Comparison inside two groups by VAS score:The result of rank sum test is both two groups have significant difference in comparison before and after every treatment (P<0.05), which shows both groups have excellent improvement on VAS.2) Comparison inside two groups on shoulder pain:The result of rank sum test is both two Groups have significant difference in comparison before and after every treatment (P<0.05),which shows both groups have excellent improvement on shoulder pain.3) Comparison inside two groups on localized muscle pressing pain:The result of rank sum test is both two groups have significant difference in comparison before and after every treatment (P<0.05),which shows both groups have excellent improvement on localized muscle pressing pain.3Comparison between Balance Acupuncture group and Traditional Acupuncture group on Analgesic effect3.1Comparison on the overall effect during treatmentComparison on both groups’s overall effect during treatment shows as follows:41cases basic curative,58marked effective,11effective,1ineffective, and the effective rate is99.1%in Balance Acupuncture group.57cases basic curative,39marked effective,13effective,2ineffective, and the effective rate is98.2%in Traditional Acupuncture group. The result of rank sum test is no statistically significant differences between two groups according to overall effect rate (P>0.05), which shows that both groups have equivalent overall effect.3.2Comparison on the overall rate of maintaining effect during follow-upComparison on both groups’s overall rate of maintaining effect during follow-up shows as follows:48cases getting better,51maintaining the effect,12having a relapse, and rate of maintenance is89.1%in Balance Acupuncture group.51cases getting better,57maintaining the effect,3having a relapse, and rate of maintenance is97.3%in Traditional Acupuncture group. The result of rank sum test is no statistically significant differences between two groups according to overall rate of maintenance (P>0.05), which shows both groups have equivalent overall effect.3.3Average time on the onset of effectTake the the time of VAS score beginning to reduce as the standard onset time.71cases to be effective in Balance acupuncture group after the first treatment, accounting for64.0%, with an average onset time of2.19±2.03;75cases to be effective in Balance acupuncture group after the first treatment, accounting for67.6%, with an average onset time of2.44±2.58. There is no statistically difference (P>0.05). The results shows Balance Acupuncture group and the Traditional Acupuncture group have equivalent onset time, and both can quickly relieve the symptoms of pain.3.4Analysis of the improvement of each index3.4.1Analysis of immediate effectComparison in the groups of balance acupuncture and traditional acupuncture before and after the first treatment:the results of rank-sum test are as follows:①there is no statistically significant difference before and after treatment in both groups according to VAS (P>0.05), which shows equivalent immediate effect by VAS in both groups.②there is no statistically significant difference before and after treatment in both groups according to shoulder pain (P>0.05), which shows equivalent immediate effect on shoulder pain in both groups.③there is no statistically significant difference before and after treatment in both groups according to localized muscle pressing pain (P>0.05), which shows equivalent immediate effect on localized muscle pressing pain in both groups.3.4.2Analysis of treatment effectComparison between groups of Balance Acupuncture and Traditional Acupuncture before and after the first treatment:the results of rank-sum test are as follows:①there is no statistically significant difference before and after treatment between groups according to VAS(P>0.05), which shows equivalent efficacy by VAS.②here is no statistically significant difference before and after treatment between groups according to shoulder pain (P>0.05) which shows equivalent efficacy on shoulder pain,③here is statistically significant difference before and after treatment between groups according to localized muscle pressing pain (P<0.05), which shows Balance Acupuncture group has superior efficacy on localized muscle pressing pain.3.4.3Analysis of long-term effectImprovement according to VAS during the follow-up:the results of rank-sum test are as follows:①there is no statistically significant difference between the two groups in maintenance according to VAS during the follow-up (P>0.05), which shows equivalent efficacy on maintenance by VAS between them,②from the last treatment to the third follow-up, there is no statistically significant difference according to VAS during the follow-up comparing between the two groups(P>0.05), which shows that both groups have equivalent long-term efficacy by VAS.Improvement in shoulder pain during the follow-up:the results of rank-sum test are as follows:①there is no statistically significant difference between the two groups in maintaining improvement in shouler pain during the follow-up (P>0.05), which shows equivalent efficacy on maintaining improvement in shouler pain,②from the last treatment to the third follow-up, there is no statistically significant difference in improvement in shouler pain during the follow-up comparing between the two groups (P>0.05), which shows that both groups have equivalent long-term efficacy on maintaining improvement in shoulder pain.Improvement in localized muscle pressing pain during the follow-up:the results of rank-sum test are as follows:①there is no statistically significant difference between the two groups in maintaining improvement in localized muscle pressing pain during the follow-up (P>0.05), which shows equivalent efficacy on maintaining improvement in localized muscle pressing pain,②from the last treatment to the third follow-up, there is statistically significant difference in improvement in localized muscle pressing pain in the second follow-up comparing between the two groups (P<0.05), which shows that balance acupuncture group has superior long-term efficacy on maintaining improvement in localized muscle pressing pain in the second follow-up, while there is no statistically significant difference in improvement in localized muscle pressing pain in the first and third follow-up comparing between the two groups (P>0.05), which shows that both groups have equivalent long-term efficacy on maintaining improvement in localized muscle pressing pain.Analysis of efficacy rate of analgesic index Analysis of efficacy rate according to VAS:the rank sum test is P>0.05and there is no statistically significant difference between two groups by VAS, which shows two groups have equivalent efficacy rate.Analysis of efficacy rate according to maintenance in improvement in shoulder pain: the rank sum test is P>0.05and there is no statistically significant difference between two groups in efficacy rate of maintaining improvement in shoulder pain, which shows two groups have equivalent efficacy rate.Analysis of efficacy rate according to maintenance in improvement in localized muscle pressing pain:the rank sum test is P<0.05and there is statistically difference between two groups in efficacy rate of maintaining improvement in localized muscle pressing pain, which shows balance acupuncture group has superior efficacy to traditional acupuncture group.
