Division's Nine-needle Treatment Of Shoulder Periarthritis Clinical Efficacy Observed

This thesis is composed of two sections: document summary andclinical research.1. Document Summary First the originations and functions of ancient and modern ninekinds of needles are introduced respectively. Lingshujing(Canon ofAcupuncture) which was compiled in 500-300B.C. contained the earliestrecords about the figures and clinical applications of nine kinds ofneedles. The ancient nine kinds of needles are not invented by someone,but formed gradually through long medical practice of our ancestorsin antiquity. In Zhenjiu Jicheng, Liao Hongrun further explained therecord about the nine kinds of needles in Neijing. Then it gives a concise introduction about the modern nine kindsof needles that are made by Shi Huaitang. The introduction includesthe special manipulation and applications of fire needle andsharp-hook-edged needle, which are associated with the clinicalresearch in this paper. Last the thesis states general situation of the treatment ofPeriarthritis of the Shoulder with acupuncture and moxibustion in thepast ten years. The conventional therapeutic methods containpuncturing, moxabustion, warm needling, point injection, laser, andso on. In generally the comprehensive method is more reported than thesingle one. Their treating effects are varied. The results ofcomprehensive therapy are more remarkable than the single treatingmentods.2.Clinical Research The research is about the clinical observation of treatment ofperiarthritis of the shoulder by Shi's Nine Needles. Sixty patientsare diveded into two groups (3 patients are withdrawn from the research).There are 29 patients in one group, in which the patients are treatedby Shi's nine kinds of needles (Shi's sharp-hook-edged needle andfire needle). The 28 patients in anther group are only treated withneedles. The result of this research shows:A. The cure rate of the group treated by Shi's nine kinds of needles is 48.28% and the general effective rate of the group is 100%. The cure rate of the group treated by normal needles is 32.14% and the general effective rate of the group is 92.86%.B. The therapeutic results of the two groups are both not related to the gender and age of these patients.C. The differences of the two groups are analyzed by statistics. The outcome is P=0.0138<0.05,which indicates that the therapy of Shi's nine kinds of needles is much better than the needling method.
