Comparison Of The Effect Of Isolated Talonavicular Arthrodesis And Triple Arthrodesis In The Treatment Of ? Flatfoot

Background This study aims to compare the efficacy of isolated talonavicular arthrodesis and triple arthrodesis in the treatment of ? flatfoot.Methods The treatment methods of these ? flatfoot patients in our hospital from February 2013 to September 2017 were randomly divided into two methods:namely,isolated talonavicular arthrodesis(isolated joint group)and triple arthrodesis(triple joints group).All patients were treated with the same preoperative and postoperative treatment principles.The postoperative complications,postoperative AOFAS ankle and posterior foot score,patient satisfaction,and the angle of the first metatarsal bones of the talus(TMTA)before and after operation were recorded and compared in those two methods.Results There are 103 standard patients,38 cases of them were eliminate for various reasons,so 65 cases were followed up for a total of 68 feet for 11-20 months.31 patients in the isolated joint group had 32 feet and 34 patient in the triple joints group had 36 feet.There was no significant difference in the general data between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the postoperative complications and the first metatarsal bone of the talus(P>0.05).The postoperative score of the AOFAS ankle and the hind foot between the two groups has significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The isolated talonavicular arthrodesis can achieve the same orthopaedic effect as triple arthrodesis,and it has the advantages of short operation time and partial retention activity of the midfoot and hindfoot.It is worthy of clinical application.
