Objective:Observe the clinical efficacy of abdominal acupuncture combined with warm acupuncture in treating menopausal hot flashes of kidney-yin deficiency type, with a view to provide a new idea for the treatment of this disease.Method:Sixty patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group(abdominal acupuncture combined with warm acupuncture at ST36)and a control group(oral Chinese medicine Zhibai Dihuang Wan)each with 30 cases, with 1 week as a course of treatment and 4 consecutive courses of treatment. Before and after treatment, the scores of the number and extent of hot flashes and sweating, the domestic improved Kupperman rating scale, the TCM syndrome rating scale were scored to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the two groups for a controlled study.Results:1.Comparison of the overall efficacy of the two groups. After treatment,6 cases were clinically controlled in the treatment group,16 cases were markedly effective,5 cases were effective,3 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 90%;3 cases were clinically controlled in the control group,10 cases were markedly effective, and 12 cases were effective,5 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 83.33%.The statistical analysis results showed that the clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients was statistically different. The treatment group was better than the control group. There was no significant statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups.2.After treatment, the extent of hot flashes and the total score of the patients in the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment, indicating that both methods can effectively reduce the number and extent of hot flashes and sweating;and the treatment group was better than the control group. The difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).3.The total scores of the modified Kupperman scale and TCM(traditional Chinese medicine)syndrome score scale of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the improvement in the treatment group was better than the control group.4.During the treatment, the vital signs of the two groups were stable, and no adverse reactions or accidents occurred, suggesting that the methods of the two groups are equally safe.Conclusions:1.Abdominal acupuncture combined with warm acupuncture at ST36 can obviously alleviate hot flash symptoms in menopausal patients with kidney yin deficiency, and it is better than Zhibai Dihuang Wan in improving the number and degree of hot flashes and sweating.2.The scheme of abdominal acupuncture combined with warm acupuncture at ST36 can effectively reduce the patient’s Kupperman scale score and TCM syndrome score, significantly improve the quality of life of patients with hot flashes, and its efficacy is better than Zhibai Dihuang Wan.
