Objective: The visual analog scale(VAS)and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)had been adopted in this study to evaluate the curative and safety effects of the third lumbar transverse process syndrome, which was treated by acupotomy lysis combined by lumbar oblique-rotation and acupotomy lysis only.Clinical observations,follow-up surveys, retrospective analysis and statistic analysis had been employed to analyze the therapeutic effects and the variations(before/after treatments)of patients. We hope that this research could provide some helps and directions for further clinical surveys. Methods:Total 60 patients(the third lumbar transverse process syndrome)from the Orthopaedic Ward and the Orthopaedic Clinic of Guilin Tcmhospital of China had been divided into 2 groups randomly, which were accorded with the inclusion criteria.Total2 groups,30 patients/group.Treatment group(acupotomy lysis combined by lumbar oblique-rotation)was defined as debonding by acupotomy lysis on the third lumbar transverse organization, and lumbar oblique-rotation was used after acupotomy lysis debonding(once per day).Control group(acupotomy lysis only)was debonding by acupotomy lysis on the third lumbar transverse organization without other treatment(once per day). All data(before/after treatments)had been input into office excel, and the statistic analysis had been completed by SPSS23.0.Results: Before treatment, the gender, age,BMI,and course of disease in two groups were statistically no different(P>0.05),indicating that comparability of two groups was available.(1)VAS scores after treatment decreased significantly than before(P<0.05),and the treatment group was more significant than control group(P<0.05).(2)ODI scores after treatment decreased significantly than before(P<0.05),and the treatment group was more significant than control group(P<0.05).(3)The overall effective rate of treatment group and control group were 93% and 87%,respectively.The overall effective rate of treatment group was higher than control group without statistically meaning(P<0.05).Conclusion(s): We found that acupotomy lysis combined by lumbar oblique-rotation and acupotomy lysis only could efficacious treat the third lumbar transverse process syndrome. In addition, though the statistically analysis,we found the acupotomy lysis combined by lumbar oblique-rotation has more clinical effects than acupotomy lysis only.
