Objective:To evaluate the application effect of Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy in patients with early acute lactating mastitis,in order to improve the cure rate of lactating mastitis and improve the clinical discomfortable symptoms of patients. Methods: A total of 64 patients with lactating mastitis treated at a grade-A tertiary general hospital in Anhui Province from August 2018 to December 2019 were selected using convenient sampling. Those patients were randomly and equally divided into the control group(western medicine standard treatment,32 cases)and Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group(combined Shu acupoints moxibustion and western medicine standard treatment,32 cases)by using computer software. The sealed envelope with light-tight is used for concealed grouping, and the outcomes were evaluated by blind method. After 5 days of treatment, the clinical efficacy, total symptom score, breast VAS pain score, body temperature, breast mass size, breast catheter patency and complications were compared between the two groups to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy in patients with lactation mastitis. Results: A total of 61 cases were collected,31 in the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group,30 in the control group.Baseline data such as age, course of disease, parity, delivery mode, history of breast disease, breastfeeding days, body temperature, breast mass size and symptom scores were comparable between the two groups(P >0.05).After 5 days of treatment, the effective rate of clinical treatment in the Shuacupoints moxibustion therapy group was 100 %(28 cases were cured,3 cases were markedly effective)than the effective rate 96.67 % of the control group(12 cases were cured,11 cases were markedly effective,6 cases were effective, and 1 case was ineffective)(Z = 4.200;P < 0.001).The body temperature of the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group returned to normal within 24 hours,48 hours, and 72 hours after treatment(24 hours 24 cases,48 hours 7 cases)was higher than the control group(24 hours 16 cases,48 hours 12 cases,72 hours 2 cases)(Z = 2.070;P = 0.043).The degree of breast catheter patency in the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group were significantly higher than those in the control group(Z = 5.290;P < 0.001).The total symptom scores(0.77 ± 0.717)of the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group was significantly lower than that of the control group(3.97 ± 2.025)(P < 0.001).And the breast VAS pain scores and breast mass diameter of the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group were lower than those of the control group(P < 0.001).Within 5 days observation period,1 patient in the control group developed to breast abscess,no complications occurred in the Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy group. No adverse reactions were seen in either group. Conclusion: The Shu acupoints moxibustion therapy for acute lactating mastitis can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients, improve the clinical treatment effect, and is suitable for clinical and community promotion and application.
