A Clinical Research On Shugan Xiehuo Prescription For Depressive State (I.e. Qi Depression Transforming Into Fire)

Objective: The thesis aimed to observe and verify the clinical effect of Professor Zhao Jianjun’s self-drafted Shugan Xiehuo Prescription for depressive state prevention and treatment,and in a way to bring to the Traditional Chinese Medicine not only various theories and experience but new perspectives and therapies.Methods: 72 patients who are suffering from depressive state(Qi Depression Transforming into Fire)that had reached the required research standard were selected and then randomly divided into two groups labeled respectively as treatment group and control group with 36 patients each.The treatment group were given Zhao Jianjun’s self-drafted Shugan Xiehuo Prescription while the control group were given oral Shugan Jieyu Capsule.This clinical test lasted for 8 weeks and 4 weeks after drug withdrawal a random clinical follow-up visit was then conducted.The clinical effect of the two groups were assessed with the HAMD,Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Observation Table and statistics analysis respectively.Results: After 8 weeks of treatment,the results of statistical software analysis showed that:1.Evaluated by HAMD,there were significant differences in scores between the two groups(P<0.05)and the treatment group bore higher scores than the control group.The clinical efficacy: the total effective rate of the treatment group was 85.29% which was better than that of the control group whose total effective rate was 72.73%.The differences between the two groups are of statistical significance.2.Evaluated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score Table,there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05)and the treatment group was better than the control group.The clinical efficacy: the total effective rate of treatment group was88.24% and the total effective rate of control group was 69.70%,the differences were of statistical significance(P<0.05),and the treatment group improved significantly compared with the control group.Conclusion: Shugan Xiehuo Prescription is clinically effective in the treatment of depressive state(Qi Depression Transforming into Fire)especially in treating symptoms such as depressed mood,irritability,oppression in chest,headache,eye red,constipation,scanty dark urine,red tongue and yellow coated tongue,and is therefore worth clinical researching and promoting.
