Clinical Research Of Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction On Treatment Of Subacute Thyroiditis

Objective: Via comparing the effect of Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction(Type of Qi Yu Huo Wang)with Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules on treatment of Subacute Thyroiditis(SAT),we evaluate the superiority and safety of Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction in clinical application of Subacute Thyroiditis.Through analysis of recurernce rate of Subacute Thyroiditis and incidence rate of Hypothyroidism,our aim was to comprehend the role of Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction in treatment of Subacute Thyroiditis.Methods: 62 Patients at the affiliated hospital of Changchun university of Chinese Medicine were divided into two groups(30 patients in Control group,31 patients in Therapy group and 1 shedding case),who were in accordance with the inclusion criteria of this research: Control group(Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules)and Therapy group(Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction).If patients suffered from severe Thyrotoxicosis,Propranolol(10mg po tid)would be used to control the symptoms.Two groups were observed continuously for 4 weeks.We observed the days of pain,degree of goiters,syndrome points of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),fever days and laboratory inspection index.Incidence rate of adverse reactions,usage rate of propranolol,days of pain,degree of goiters,syndrome points of TCM,fever days and laboratory inspection index of both groups after treatments were under statistical processing.We observed recurernce rate of Subacute Thyroiditis and incidence rate of adverse reactions in two groups by Outpatient or telephone follow-up lasting 3 months.SPSS(version 21.0)was used to process the statistical analysis.P value less than 0.05 was considered as significant statistical difference.Results: Before treatments,basic lines of patients in two groups had no significant differences.In control group,after treatment with Ibuprofen sustained-release capsules,the days of pain,degree of goiters,fever days,syndrome points of TCM and index of FT3,FT4,thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)had significant differences with these indexes before Ibuprofen treatments(P<0.05).The same results could be found in Therapy groups(P<0.05).Compared with results of Control group after treatments,patients in Therapy group showed a remarkably difference of days of pain,degree of goiters,syndrome points of TCM,indexes of TSH,the curative effect of Subacute Thyroiditis and the curative effect of TCM Syndrome(P<0.05),while the difference was not statistically significant among fever days,FT3,FT4 and ESR(P>0.05).About incidence rate of adverse reactions and usage rate of propranolol of two groups,there was a significant statistical difference in them.When telephone follow-up lasting 3 months had been finished,we found Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction remarkably decreased recurernce rate of Subacute Thyroiditis(P<0.05).But there was no significant difference in the incidence of Hypothyroidism between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: Compared with the role of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction revealed its better clinical efficacy,lower incidence rate of adverse events and Hypothyroidism and lower recurernce rate of Subacute Thyroiditis.In our conclusion,Jiedutongluoxiaoyingzhitong Decoction deserved more clinical promotions.
