Objective: To explore the Clinical application of MR Neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging(NODDI)in patients with Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods: 41(PD)patients with Parkinson's disease and 22 age and sex matched normal volunteers were collected as control group to perform plain MRI and NODDI imaging to quantitatively analyze the changes of(SNPC)in the dense part of substantia nigra in patients with PD.The intracellular volume fraction(VIC),orientation dispersion index(ODI)and Volume fraction of the isotropic compartment(VISO)of the dense part of the substantia nigra(SNPC)were compared between the two groups.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent predictors of PD.Results: The levels of VIC and ODI in SNPC of patients with PD were significantly lower than those in healthy controls.Multivariate Logistic analysis showed that the change of VIC in SNPC of patients with Parkinson's disease was significantly correlated with PD(P < 0.05),SNPC was an independent predictor of PD.In the ROC analysis, the VIC in the contralateral SNPC showed the best diagnostic performance. Conclusion: NODDI can reflect the microscopic changes of substantia nigra structure in patients with PD.The directional dispersion index(ODI)and intracellular volume fraction(VIC)can be used as evaluation indexes for PD patients and make diagnosis for PD patients.
