Objective:A retrospective study was conducted to investigate the diagnostic value of neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging(NODDI)parameters in glioma classification. Methods:All the patients suspected of glioma were routinely scanned by MR plain scan, enhancement and DWI and NODDI.30 patients with postoperative pathological results of glioma were selected, including 16 males and 14 females, with an average age of(46.23 ± 7.58)years old, including 18 cases of high-grade glioma and 12 cases of low-grade glioma. The post-processing software got neurites direction discrete degree of figure(odi),the volume fraction of the neurite figure(ficvf),outside the neurite volume fraction figure(fvec, space is divided into three coordinate direction fxvec fyvec fzvec),the concentration distribution of Watson parameters(kappa)and isotropic volume fraction(fiso). The mean values of tumor parenchyma, peritumoral area and contralateral normal white matter were measured by graph analysis software. The parameters of high and low grade glioma were tested by mann-whitney U test in different brain regions and at different levels, and P<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.Results:1.The mean values of fiso, fyvec, kappa, ficvf and odi of low-grade glioma could distinguish the solid area from the normal area, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mean values of fiso, fxvec and ficvf could distinguish the edema area from the normal area, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mean values of kappa, and odi of low-grade glioma could distinguish the solid area from theedema area, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The mean values of fiso, fyvec, kappa, ficvf and odi of high-grade glioma can distinguish the solid area from the normal area, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The mean values of fiso, fxvec, fyvec, kappa, ficvf and odi can distinguish the edema area from the normal area, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The mean values of fiso, fyvec, kappa, ficvf and odi of high-grade glioma could distinguish the solid area from the edema area, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.In the solid area, the mean values of fiso, fyvec, kappa, ficvf and odi could distinguish the high grade glioma from the low grade glioma, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).In edema area, the mean values of fiso, fxvec, fzvec and kappa could distinguish high-grade glioma from low-grade glioma, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The quantitative results of fiso, fvec, kappa, ficvf and odi parameters of NODDI in solid and edema regions are of great value in differentiating high and low glioma from normal brain regions.
