Clinical Study On The Curative Effect Of Tincture Of Paris Polyphylla To Patients With Wind And Fire Toxin Syndrome In Viper Bites

Objective:This study started from the local symptoms,swelling degree and laboratory test of patients in viper bites,observed and studied the clinical effect of tincture of Paris polyphylla,and provided reference for the diagnosis and treatment of viper bites.Methods:A total of 66 patients with Wind and Fire Toxin Syndrome in viper bites admitted to Nantong Hospital of Chinese Medicine were selected between July to September 2018.According to random number table method,patients were divided into control group and treatment group.The control group was treated with routine treatment by anti-venom serum and dexamethasone On the basis treatment of the control group,the patients in the treatment group used tincture of Paris polyphylla which smeared on the affected limbs with swelling,pain and petechia by the way of smearing around the wound more than 1?2cm,4 times a day for 6 days.The symptom scores and swelling degree were observed on the 0th,3rd and 6th day of treatment in each group On the 0th and 6th day of treatment,the patients were tested for activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),creatinine(Cr)and creatine kinase(CK).Results:Finally,34 patients in control group and 32 patients in treatment group finished the study.The gender,age,treatment time,condition classification and distribution of affected limbs were comparable before treatment(P>0.05).And there was no significant differences in symptom scores,degree of swelling,APTT,AST,Cr and CK before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the decrease of symptom scores,swelling degree,APTT and AST between two groups was clear,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).And there was no significant difference in the decrease of Cr and CK between two groups after treatment,the difference had no statistically significant(P>0.05).In each group,there were significant differences on the observation indexes before and after treatment(P<0.01).Conclusions:In the application of anti-venom serum through the treatment of viper bites,together with the application of tincture of Paris polyphylla can effectively alleviate the local symptoms of viper bites,also help to reduce the levels of serum APTT and AST,and shorten the course of disease.
