| Tumor death has become the main disease around the world, natural products are the main source of antitumor drugs. Thus, the active tracking technique has been used to study on antitumor components from Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis.Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis (Franch.) Hand.-Mezz is the dry rhizome of Paris genus of Liliaceae, distribute worldwidely and mainly distribute in the southwest provinces. Folk for the treatment of cancer has a very long history, the modern pharmacological study found that Paris has the effect of anti-tumor, anti inflammation, analgesia and sedation and hemostasis in anti-tumor. In order to find compounds with novel structure and antitumor activity, antitumor activity tracing method and various separation methods were used in this experiment, active antitumor constituents from Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis were studied.14 compounds were isolated and their structures were identified, including 10 steroidal saponins, one sterol component, one flavonoid and two phenolic constituents. Their structures were identified respectively as:pennogenin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), diosgenin-3-O-a-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), pennogenin-3-O-a-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), diosgenin-3-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), pennogenin-3-O-a-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→4)-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), diosgenin-3-O-α-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→4)-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (6), pennogenin-3-O-a-L-rha-mnopyranosy-(1→4)-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), pennogenin-3-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→3)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 →2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (8), diosgenin-3-O-α-L-rhamn-opyranosyl-(1→4)-α-L-rham-nopyranosyl-(1→4)-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (9), pennogenin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranopyranoside-(1→3)-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyrano-side (10),β-ecdysone (11), apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (12),4-[hydroxy(4-hydrox-yphenyl)methyl]tetrahydrofuran-3-ol(13),4-[hydroxy(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]tetrahydr-ofuran-3-ol(14). Compound 8,12-14 were isolated from this plant for the first time.We concluded that, anti-tumor effective constituents from Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis are steroidal saponins. In addition, furostanol steroidal saponins with low activity can be changed into spirostane type steroid saponins with high activity through enzymatic hydrolysis. |
