ObjectivesBased on investigating post competency training needs of ICU new nurses in tertiary A hospital,a post competency training program that complies with China's clinical practice is prepared to provide a reference and basis for relevant training and assessment.MethodsAfter retrospective analysis of the literature,a questionnaire entry pool was drawn up with reference to the ICU nurse's post competency characteristics model and evaluation indicators.A draft of the questionnaire was formed after the experts content validity evaluation.The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were analyzed,and a survey was conducted on 342 comprehensive ICU nurses in comprehensive tertiary A hospitals in Hubei Province,including surveys of demographic data and training needs.According to the results of the survey,a first draft of training syllabus and an expert consultation questionnaire were developed.Eventually,construction of the post competency training program for ICU new nurses was completed by two rounds of Delphi method.Results(1)Developed an ICU new nurses post competency training needs questionnaire.The CVI of the questionnaire was 0.98,and I-CVI was 0.83?1.00.The results of the project analysis showed that all the items in the questionnaire reached a significant level(P<0.05).Though exploratory factor analysis,the cumulative contribution rate of the four common factors extracted in this study was 56.50%.The total Cronbach's a was 0.964,the Cronbach's a of each dimension was 0.795?0.947,and the correlation coefficient between each dimension and the questionnaire was 0.710?0.920.(2)The total score of training content needs of ICU new nurses was(208.62±19.28)points,and the average score of each dimension is ranked as follows:trait dimension(4.59±0.4 7),skill dimension(4.43±0.54),knowledge dimension(4.39±0.41),and ability dimension(4.30±0.50).The average score of training demand of 47 items was 4.08?4.73,of which 21 items were above 4.5.The requirements of training methods were mainly traditional training methods,such as theoretical lectures,case analysis,and demonstration teaching,but they are focused on the training content of each dimension.Although the ICU new nurses had different academic qualification and professional titles,there was no significant difference in the degree of training content needs(P>0.05).(3)The recovery rates of the questionnaires of two rounds of expert letters were 100%and 90%,respectively,which were effectively recovered.The expert suggestion rates are 65%and 38.9%,respectively.The expert authority coefficient was 0.89.The mean values of the importance of training items and training content were 4.500?4.940,4.000?4.890,respectively,the coefficients of variation were 0.048?0.157,0.066?0.210,respectively.The Kendall coordination coefficients W was 0.304 and 0.377,respectively,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).(4)The final post competency training program for ICU new nurses,including 4 major training programs(professional skills,professional knowledge,personal traits and professional ability)and 52 training contents.And set the corresponding training objectives and training methods.It takes a total of 105 classes to complete the entire training.Conclusions(1)The reliability and validity of the questionnaire of ICU new nurse job competence training needs are quite good.So the survey results are reliable and effective.(2)ICU new nurses have a high degree of training demand at the post competence level,especially in the trait dimension and commonly used first-aid knowledge and technology.(3)The consultants in this study have high positive coefficients and authoritative coefficients,and the opinions of experts in all indicators tend to be consistent.Therefore,it can be considered that the consulting results of this study are reliable and scientific.The construction of post competency training program for ICU new nurses in tertiary A hospital highlights the characteristics of the specialty,has targeting and practical value.It could lay the foundation for the development and implementation of ICU new nurse-related training,which is conducive to maintaining the long-term development of ICU new nurses and ICU specialties in China.
