ObjectiveThrough the clinical study on the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization in the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis,to explore a safe and effective treatment that can be easily accepted by patients, this work aims to provide reference for the clinical treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis.MethodSixty cases, which meet the standards for freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis, are divided into two groups in accordance with the random number table. For the thirty cases in the experimental group, the treatment is the combination of tendon needle and joint mobilization. For the control group, the treatment involves only the joint mobilization. Before and after the treatment,an observation is made so as to find the changes that have happened to the VAS scores and the Constant-Murleya shoulder joint function scores in the two groups.Statistical analysis is performed to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment for the two groups.Results1.The Analysis on the General DataBefore the treatment,a statistical analysis is made on the gender, the age and the disease course of the two groups. As the result suggests, the difference between the two groups is not statistically significant(P>0.05),which suggests that the two groups are comparable.2.The Analysis on the Efficacy Index Results2.1The Analysis on the VAS Scores and Constant-murley Shoulder Joint Function Scores in the Two Groups before the TreatmentA statistical analysis is made on the VAS scores and the constant-murley shoulder joint function scores before the treatment, which shows that the difference between the two groups is not statistically significant(P>0.05),and suggests that the two groups are comparable.2.2The Pre-treatment and Post-Treatment Comparison of the Same Group(1)Before and after the treatment,a comparation is made on the VAS scores and constant-murley shoulder joint function scores for the experimental group, which shows that the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05),and proves that the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization is efficacious in the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis.(2)Before and after the treatment,a comparation is made on the VAS scores and constant-murley shoulder joint function scores for the control group, which shows that the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05),and proves that the separate use of joint mobilization is effective in the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis.2.3The Analysis on the VAS Scores and Constant-murley Shoulder Joint Function Scores in the Two Groups after the TreatmentAfter the treatment, the VAS scores and constant-murley shoulder joint function scores of the experimental group are compared with those of the control group, which shows that the difference between the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05),and proves that the experimental group prevails over the control group in terms of pain relief and shoulder joint function improvement.3.Evaluation of Therapeutic Efficiency After the treatment, the experimental group includes 7 cases of complete recovery,12 cases of significant improvement,9 cases of improvement, and 2 cases of no improvement. The cases of complete recovery and significant improvement make up 63.33% of the total. The overall rate of improvement is 93.33%.The control group includes 2 cases of completerecovery,9 cases of significant improvement,11 cases of improvement, and 8 cases of no improvement. The cases of complete recovery and significant improvement make up36.67% of the total. The overall rate of improvement is 73.33.As is suggested by the results of rank sum test, the difference in the efficacy of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).Moreover,the experimental group includes more cases of complete recovery and significant improvement than the control group, which suggests that the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization is more effective than the separate used of joint mobilization in relieving the pain and improving the shoulder joint function during the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis.Conclusion(1)The treatment, which combines the tendon needle with the joint mobilization or involves only the use of joint mobilization, can be effective.(2)The overall efficacy of the experimental group, whose treatment is the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization,is higher than that of the control group during the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis.(3)For the treatment of freezing-period scapulohumeral periarthritis, the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization is more effective than the seperate use of joint mobilization in relieving the pain and improving the shoulder joint function.Furthermore, the combined use of tendon needle and joint mobilization have the advantage of safety and effectiveness, which means that the therapeutic method is readily acceptable to the patients and is worthy to be popularized in the clinical application.
