Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Shujin Decoction combined with needle knife therapy in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis of stasis type.Methods:Seventy-two patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis of stasis type were splited up into treatment group (n=36) and control group (n=36) randomly. The control group received oral Shujin Decoction and massage, and the treatment group received needle knife therapy in addition to the treatment for the control group. At4weeks after treatment, the treatment outcomes of the two groups were evaluated using the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Shoulder Rating Scale.Results:The treatment group had a significantly higher overall response rate than the control group (97.22%vs72.22%, P<0.05); both groups showed a significant increase in UCLA shoulder score (P<0.05), and the treatment group had a significantly more increase than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Shujin Decoction combined with needle knife therapy and massage have good clinical efficacy in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.
