Clinical Study On Knee Osteoarthritis With Liver And Kidney Deficiency Treated By Guweian Decoction In Combination With Thermal Moxibustion

Objective: To observe the clinical symptom improvement and curative effect of Guweian Decoction combined with thermal moxibustion in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis patients with liver and kidney deficiency,and to provide effective methods for clinic treatment.Methods: 72 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis with liver and kidney deficiency who met the criteria were selected from the outpatient and inpatient rheumatology department of Ruikang Hospital,Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine from December 2018 to December 2019.The patients were then divided into two groups by random number table: the treatment group and the control group,with 36 patients in each group.For control group:oral administration of 0.628 g of glucosamine sulfate capsules,3 times/day;for treatment group: Guweian Decoction and thermal moxibustion therapy were added on the basis of the control group.The VAS score,WOMAC score,clinical rating scale score and clinical efficacy of the two groups before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment were recorded and analyzed.The author also took note of the adverse reactions of patients during the research process.A scientific evaluation of the efficacy of Guweian Decoction combined with thermal muxibustion was made based on statistical analysis.Results:(1)Comparison of patient indicators within the group: before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment,the VAS score,WOMAC score,clinical rating scale score,and serum interleukin-1?(IL-1?)content of the two groups were compared.All indicators of the patients have improved after 8weeks of treatment compared with before the treatment,and the difference was of statistical value(P<0.05).(2)Comparison of the patients indicators between groups:(1)Before treatment: There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in VAS score,WOMAC score,clinical symptom rating scale score,or serum interleukin-1?(IL-1?)content(P > 0.05).(2)After 8 weeks of treatment: there were statistically significant differences between the treatment group and the control group in VAS score,WOMAC score,clinical rating scale score,and serum interleukin-1?(IL-1?)content(P<0.05).(3)Clinical efficacy: The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group were 88.24% and 74.29%,respectively.The difference in the total effective rate of the two groups was of statistical value(P <0.05),with treatment group showing better compared with the control group.Conclusions:Guweian Decoction combined with thermal moxibustion is effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency.It can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and signs of patients,and has little adverse reactions and high safety.
