Objective: A retrospective study was conducted to investigate the etiology of children's chronic cough.Methods: In this study,a retrospective clinical investigation was conducted to collect 557 hospitalized cases of chronic cough children admitted to the respiratory department of the first people's hospital of chenzhou city from January 2014 to December 2018.The clinical data were analyzed to find the etiology.Results:1.Etiological composition: a total of 557 hospitalized cases were collected in this study,among which 146 cases(26.2%)were cough variant asthma(CVA),98 cases(17.6%)of upper airway cough syndrome(UACS),184 cases(33%)of post-infection cough(PIC),68 cases(12.2%)of mixed multiple etiology,and 61 cases(11%)of other single etiology.2.Different age groups: infant group(0~3 years old),preschool group(3~6 years old),school age group(6~14 years old),there were statistically significant differences in the school-age group(6-14 years old),there was a statistically significant difference in the etiological composition of chronic cough(P<0.05).3.In the different disease course groups(4 weeks to march,march to June,> June),there was a statistically significant difference in the etiological composition of chronic cough(P<0.01).While there was no statistically significant difference in the etiological composition of chronic cough in the different gender groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:The etiology of chronic cough in hospitalized children is mainly noninfectious,and the age and course of common diseases due to post-infection cough and cough variability asthma upper airway cough syndrome has a certain influence on the composition ratio of chronic cough etiology.
