The Efficacy Of Liraglutide In Improving Carotid Intima-Media Thickness In Patients With T2DM-A Meta-analysis

Objective:There are more and more clinical studies on the relationship between liraglutide and carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes,but whether liraglutide can effectively improve carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes,There is still controversy.This article aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of liraglutide in improving carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2diabetes by conducting meta-analysis of the published literature research results,thus providing some reference for clinical drug use.Methods:Search whole article or keywords in the databases of Pubmed,Embase,CoChrane,China Knowledge Network,Wanfang Database,Weipu Medicine,etc.,including the English search terms liraglutide,carotid intia-media thickness or carotid intermedium or carotid artery or cIMT.Chinese search term liraglutide,carotid intima-media thickness or carotid atherosclerosis or carotid plaque,the retrieval time is the day databese was created to 2019.02.01,after reading the title and abstract of the retrieved literature,according to the inclusion.The literature is collected and discharged according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,and risk and quality assessments are performed on documents that meet the criteria,and data in the standards-compliant literature are extracted and analyzed.Results:A total of 7 articles were included,all of which were self-controlled.The observation time was more than 12 weeks.A total of 387 cases were included.All the data were measured.All the literatures were analyzed by chi-square test for homogeneity.The obtained x~2=7.0,P=0.008 is not homogenous and can be analyzed using a random effects model.Finally,using software Revman 5.3 analysis,liraglutide can effectively improve carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes[(Z=0.29,P<0.0001),95%CI(0.16,0.42)],and at the same time,Liraglutide can also effectively reduce glycated hemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes[(Z=7,P<0.00001),95%CI(1.89,3.37)],total cholesterol[(Z=57.8,P<0.00001),95%CI(1.36,1.46)],triglyceride[(Z=3.33,P=0.0009<0.05),95%CI(0.18,0.71)],low density lipoprotein[(Z=3.41,P=0.0007<0.05)95%CI(0.36,1.35)],all the literature analysis of the Egger test showed that there was no publication bias.Conclusion:Liraglutide can effectively improve the carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes,and can effectively reduce the levels of glycated hemoglobin,total cholesterol,triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein.
