Objective: To explore the treatment strategy of humeral intercondylar C type fracture and to analyze the factors influencing the recovery of elbow joint function after operation. Methods: From July 2011 to January 2018,43 cases of humeral intercondylar type C fracture were treated by operation.31 cases with complete follow-up data were retrospectively analyzed. After an average follow-up of 19 months,Mayo elbow function score was used to evaluate the functional recovery of the elbow joint after the operation. The relationship between the type of fracture, timing of operation, operative approach, fracture reduction and internal fixation, age and the function of the ultimate elbow was analyzed respectively. Results: All the fractures healed.According to the Mayo elbow joint function score,23 cases were excellent,4 cases were good,2 cases were in the middle,2 cases were poor. The rate of excellent and good was 87.1%.Conclusion: It can effectively reduce the incidence of complications of elbow joint after humeral intercondylar C type fracture by the type of fracture judged correctly, the optimal time of operation and the appropriate operative approach selected according to the patient's injury, the effective reduction and internal fixation of the fracture and timely functional exercise after operation. And age also affects the recovery of elbow function after operation.
