| After the proposition of “Belt and Road” initiative,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has become a key part of exchanges and communication between China and B&R countries in the field of medicine and health and the market demand of B&R countries for TCM products has increased significantly.As the international and social influence of TCM gradually expands,the export of TCM products enjoys a broad development prospect.Since Gansu Province is a big province of TCM resources in China and also located in the golden section of “Silk Road Economic Belt”,its unique regional advantages have brought important development opportunities for the export of TCM products.However,constrained by its social and economic development level,TCM export in Gansu Province still have such problems as small scale and week competitiveness.In view of the strategic background of “Belt and Road” initiative,this paper deeply analyzed the development status of TCM export in Gansu Province.Through comprehensive application of such strategies as seizing opportunities,leveraging advantages,overcoming defects,and evading risks,this thesis had studied and put forward forward-looking and systematic countermeasures and suggestions on the development of TCM export in Gansu Province.This thesis not only has some theoretical and practical significance for the development of TCM export in Gansu Province,but also provides a new way of thinking to the integrated development of “Belt and Road” initiative and TCM internationalization.Through literature research,this thesis systematically studies relevant policies on promoting TCM internationalization at the level of government under the strategic environment of “Belt and Road” initiative and sorts out policy measures and development directions of China and Gansu Province on TCM export.Through studying the research results of relevant scholars on “Belt and Road” TCM development,international trade,and TCM export,the thesis has formed a theoreticalresearch review on TCM export to provide theoretical support to the environment analysis and countermeasure studies on TCM export development in Gansu Province.Meanwhile,this thesis has obtained data on the product export of key TCM exporting enterprise in Gansu Province through investigations and carried out classification analysis on the current status of TCM export in Gansu Province based on the data.Through quantitative analysis of the survey data,it is found that the TCM export in Gansu Province has some industrial foundation and development potential,in which the export of TCM extracts enjoys a strong momentum of growth while the export of TCM healthcare products is less satisfactory.In addition,the thesis also adopts SWOT analysis tool in comprehensively analyzing TCM export development in Gansu Province and it is found that TCM export in Gansu Province enjoys some advantages in relevant policies,geographical location,TCM resources,and market foundation,but is at a relative disadvantage in economic and social level,trade company,export products,and high-end talents;the “Belt and Road” initiative and international market demand for TCM have brought good development opportunities to the expansion of TCM export,but cultural differences between China and foreign countries,international trade barriers and industry competition also bring threats and challenges to TCM export development in Gansu Province.Based on the above analysis,from two perspectives of company and government,the thesis proposes countermeasures and suggestions from six aspects,namely cultivating backbone enterprises on TCM export,enhancing the international competitiveness of TCM products,expanding international market fields of TCM,boosting international exchanges and cooperation on TCM,advancing TCM international exchanges and cooperation,establishing the TCM export guarantee system,and establishing the TCM export risk control system to provide references for government departments to formulate relevant policies and TCM companies to expand the international market. |
