Analysis Of Related Factors Of Treatment Failure Of Air Enema For Pediatric Intussusception

ObjectiveReview comparative analysis and identify the failure related factors of air enema treatment in pediatric intussusception,and provide advices for clinical selection of appropriate treatment.MethodsIn the study,we reviewed the records of 1122 cases which were treated with air enema and diagnosed as pediatric intussusception during the period November 2008-October 2018 from General Hospital of NingXia Medical University.After inclusion and exclusion criteria,866 cases were confirmed to meet the requirements.They are divided into success group(728 cases)and failure group(138 cases)of air enema.Analysis of relevant factors in the two groups of data,including gender,age,ethnicity,pre-hospital time,quarter of disease,nutritional status of children,peripheral blood leukocyte count,peripheral blood neutrophil ratio,Whether there is fever,vomiting,bloating,abdominal pain or repeated crying on admission,whether the abdomen can touch the mass,whether it is blood in the stool or jam-like stool,the type of intussusception and the location of the intussusception hood.Statistical analysis of the above data was performed using SPSS 22.0 software.Results1.The gender,ethnicity,quarter of disease,nutritional status of children,abdominal pain or repeated crying or repeated crying and whether the abdomen can touch the mass have no statistical significance between the two groups(p>0.05).2.The differences of two groups'fever,vomiting,bloating,blood in the stool or jam-like stool,age(1.81y±1.38y,3.69y±4.35y),peripheral blood leukocyte count(9.52±4.26*10~9/L,12.66±4.04*10~9/L),peripheral blood neutrophil ratio(57.71±15.30%,64.78±19.57%),the type of intussusception and the location of the hood were statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe older child,having fever,vomiting,bloating,blood in the stool or jam-like stool,the peripheral blood leukocyte count increased,peripheral blood neutrophil ratio increased,the type of small intestine intussusception and lleum-lleum-colon intussusception are the related factors in the failure of air enema to treat pediatric intussusception.
