Objective:With the guidance of"Wentong",the therapeutic mechanism is explored by observing the clinical curative effect of electronic moxibustion on primary dysmenorrhea with congealing cold and blood stasis and its effect on the level of serum estradiol and progesterone.Methods:76 patients having primary dysmenorrhea with congealing cold and blood stasis are selected and randomly divided into two groups, electronic moxibustion group and western medicine group, with 38 patients in each group.Patients of electronic moxibustion group are treated with electronic moxibustion and selected acupoints are Guanyuan,Shuidao and Sanyinjiao. The treatment are performed from 7 days before menstruation to menstrual cramps, once a day for 30 minutes;Patients of western medicine group are offered ibuprofen sustained release capsules, patients started taking medicine one day before the menstruation, twice a day,300mg each time, such treatment last for three days.Treatment and follow-up visit are given to both groups for 3 menstrual cycles.Result:1.Baseline comparison:72 patients eventually had dysmenorrhea, with 36 in each group, the baseline of both groups are the same, and the two groups were comparable.2.Result of the treatment:?1?Pain index:From the perspective of inter-group and different time poins, there was no significant difference in VAS and dysmenorrhea scores between the two groups before treatment?P>0.05?.The score of VAS and dysmenorrhea were both higher than those of the western medicine group in the first and second menstrual cycles, and the difference was statistically significant?P<0.05?.That difference turned insignificant in the third menstrual cycle?P>0.05?.In the follow-up period, the VAS and dysmenorrhea symptom scores of western medicine group were significantly higher?P<0.05?than those of the electronic moxibustion group. From the perspective of inner-group and different time points, the VAS and dysmenorrhea symptom scores were gradually decreasing from before treatment to the third menstrual cycle?P<0.05?.From the third menstrual cycle to follow-up period, there was no significant difference in the electronic moxibustion group?P>0.05?,while that difference increased and turned statistically significant?P<0.05?;The improvement of dysmenorrhea symptoms of both groups are similar, difference is not statistically significant?P>0.05?.In the follow-up period, dysmenorrhea of western medicine group was worse than that in the electronic moxibustion group, difference was statistically significant?P<0.05?.?2?Laboratory index:The level difference of serum E2 and P before and after treatment in the western medicine group were not statistically significant?P>0.05?;the level of serum E2 in the electronic moxibustion group after treatment was lower than that before treatment and that of the western medicine group, and the level of serum P was higher, the differences was statistically significant?P<0.05?.?3?Curative effect:The general short-term effective rate of electronic moxibustion group and the western are respectively 91.67%,80.56%,and difference was not statistically significant difference?P>0.05?in the comparison;the general long-term effective rate of electronic moxibustion group and the western are respectively 86.11%and 44.44%,the long-term effect of electronic moxibustion group was way better than that of the western medicine group, the difference was statistically significant?P<0.01?.Conclusion:In the treatment of dysmenorrhea, the treatment of both groups were effective and the short-term effect were similar, but the onset time of western medicine group was shortter, while the long-term effect of the electronic moxibustion group was better. It is preliminarily speculated that the mechanism of electronic moxibustion on primary dysmenorrhea was reducing the level of serum E2 and raise the level of serum P.
