Research On Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Male Nursing Students' Professional Identity Of Higher Vocational College In Nanning

With the development of social economy and the gradual improvement of people's living standards,the concern of health and personalized medical care are increasing,and higher requirements are put forward for medical and health care.The joining of more male nurses has become inevitable in the nursing industry.Compared with female nurses,male nurses have more stable psychological qualities,better physical strength and faster responsiveness.Their role in clinical nursing work is also increasingly prominent.They inject new vitality into the development of nursing career,and also make nursing work become more perfect and reasonable.In general,male nurses have good employment prospects and development potential.But due to traditional secular concepts,social status and their own preferences,the proportion of male nurses in medical institutions is far from meeting clinical needs.Male nursing students' sense of professional identity also exist contradictions and deviations,which need to be brought to the attention of nursing colleges and educators.Through comprehensive literature search and analysis,it is found that there are few studies on the professional identity of male nursing students in China,especially for the male nursing students in Guangxi nursing college.The existing research has only been carried out for a certain university or a specific grade,and the research scope is narrow and lack of certain representativeness.The thesis not only investigates and analyzes the occupational identity of male students in three-year vocational nursing majors in Guangxi medical colleges,but also interviews male clinical nurses working in Nanning's hospitals,which makes up the lack of research for the professional identity of nursing majors in Guangxi medical colleges,and provides data support and theoretical advice for the healthy development of the nursing profession.The thesis adopts the literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview survey method and statistical analysis method to design and prepare the "general situation questionnaire" and "nurse student professional identification questionnaire".The "General Survey Questionnaire" is used to collect data on demographic variables such as the only child,family economic status,and parental education."The nursing students Professional Identity Questionnaire" includes five impact factors: career choice motivation,occupational cognition,occupational emotional identity,occupational Benefits and satisfaction,career planning,the reliability coefficient of the scale is 0.926.In this study,350 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents,and invalid questionnaires such as missing or wrongly selected questionnaires were removed.327 valid questionnaires were valid,and another 43 active male nurses were valid questionnaires.Finally,370 valid questionnaires were collected and on-site transcripts and conversations were conducted.A total of 16 recordings were recorded.The data collected were recorded and statistically analyzed using SPSS19.0.The general questionnaire was descriptively analyzed with percentages.The descriptive statistical analysis,independent sample t-test and single factor were used for the measurement data of nurses' professional identity.Based on the results of the impact factor differences,the analysis focuses on the impact of social factors,family factors,school factors and personal factors.The analysis results show that in the ranking of the five impact factor scores,the career choice motivation has the highest mean value,and the occupational income and satisfaction average are the lowest,indicating that male nursing students can make self-decision in career choice and understand the career prospects,but also hope to further improve in terms of professional treatment,satisfaction,and professional social status.In the horizontal comparison of the effects of various factors,social factors and school factors have a greater impact on the professional identity of male nursing students.There are significant differences in whether to carry out vocational identity courses,whether to carry out courses or activities specifically for male nursing students.Under the traditional training of female nurses,the colleges failed to carry out educational activities such as ideological education,psychological education and career planning for male nursing students,which have a negative impact for Personal factors such as motivation and professional self-confidence.In the vertical comparison of male nursing students in different grades,there is a significant difference in the level of professional identity: freshman > sophomore,sophomore >junior,junior > in-service,also confirms that it is very important for male nursing students to enhance their professional identity whether the school attaches importance to the cultivation of male nursing students' professional identity.In terms of familyfactors,some demographic variables have significant differences in occupational identity in previous research literature,and the results of this survey show no significant difference in identity whether the only child,parental education,family economic status and other variables for male nursing students.It can be seen that with the progress of society and the change of people's understanding,the influence of family on the professional identity of male nursing students is weakening.In interview survey,9 male nursing students were randomly chosen from 3medical colleges and 3 male clinical nurses were randomly chosen from different hospitals.Twelve interviewees were interviewed face to face through semi-structure qualitative study method.The interviewers recorded their words in audio file and written materials,which the interviewers collated and analyzed later.The results indicate that on the aspect of "occupational behavioral motivation",most interviewees chose nursing as major of their own accords;On the aspect of "career objective valence",although most interviewees thought highly of nursing career,they still considered that the social status of nursing should be raised as soon as possible;On the aspect of "vocational learning ability",every interviewee in different studying/working periods was under pressure and difficulties,and they thought nursing social practice is important for studying nursing;On the aspect of "career self-actualization",most interviewees believed that the courses,lectures and activities especially for the male students had great influence on their professional identity.In view of the current situation and influencing factors of occupational identity of male nursing students in higher vocational colleges,it is suggested that the media should propagandize the positive cases of male nurses,and the families should understand and support the male nurses,and the male nurses themselves should improve personal quality and build a good professional image.It is also recommended the nursing college to take the different measures to male nursing students in different grades from the following aspects: course installation improvement,psychological guidance,and model inspiration.
