Clinical Observation Of Zhigancao Decoction Combined With Olotadine Eye Drops In The Treatment Of Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Zhigancao decoction combined with Olotadine eye drops on the type of qi-blood deficiency of vernal keratoconjunctivitis.Methods: From March 2017 to December 2017,60 children(aged 4 to 14 years old)who were admitted to the affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine and diagnosed with the type of qi-blood deficiency in vernal keratoconjunctivitis were randomly divided into two groups.30 cases in the treatment group and 30 cases in the control group.The treatment group was treated with Zhigancao decoction combined with Olotadine eye drops,while those in the control group were treated only with Olotadine eye drops.The children in the two groups were continuously treated and observed for one month.The symptoms and signs,total effective rate and recurrence rate were recorded and compared before and after treatment.Results:1.After one month of continuous treatment,the curative effects of symptoms and signs before and after treatment between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.01),that the two groups were effective.However,the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the symptoms(itching,fear of light,tears,burning sensation,foreign matter feeling)and the physical signs(conjunctival papilla,conjunctival follicles,conjunctival congestion,conjunctivaledema,secretion,corneal limbus change)(P<0.05).2.After one month of continuous treatment,the final total effective rate of the treatment group was 95.00%,that of the control group was 85.00%.The recurrence rate of the treatment group was 15.79% in the next year and 61.11% in the control group according to the second year of re-diagnosis.The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,and the recurrence rate was lower.Conclusion:1.Zhigancao decoction combined with Olotadine eye drops and only the use of Olotadine eye drops in the treatment of the type of qi-blood deficiency of vernal keratoconjunctivitis were all effective,but the former in the improvement of symptoms and signs of this disease is better than the latter.2.The use of Zhigancao decoction in combination with Olotadine eye drops in the treatment of the type of qi-blood deficiency of vernal keratoconjunctivitis has more advantages in reducing the recurrence rate and shortening the course of disease and so on.
