Scope And Schedule Management Study In Hospital’s Renewal Project

The change of medical demand,the upgrading of the technology and medical devices,the transformation of medical services as well as management,but most importantly the alternation of hospital’s ownership,the above all forced hospital S to upgrade its software and hardware which means to renovate the hospital campus,reestablish the IT system,restructure the medical departments and hospital organizations.The top management team as the project manager of the renewal project,is very weak on relative project management experience,especially on the scope planning and schedule management.The thesis brought in the concept of project management by the study and application of scope and schedule management in the hospital’s renewal project.For project scope management,the Analytic Hierarchy Process model was applied to help the hospital for the planning of project scope,which was a multi-objectives decision making model based on the weights of influence factors that coming from environmental factors,project stakeholders,and the organizational factors.For project schedule management,the Gantt-chart method was introduced and applied to help hospital build up an applicable schedule management tool,in addition,with the help of Critical path analysis,the project manager could have better control of the critical activity based on relevant precaution plans and solutions.With the introduction of project management,the management efficiency and effectiveness were improved from two aspects.One is to prompt the management team make planning decision based on project stakeholders’ demands and on a higher global perspective,with both quantitative and qualitative methods.The other is help the management team realize the advanced and convenient management tool and apply the tool in their practical management process.
