The Evaluation Of Application Of Gantt Chart In Nursing Quality Control Management

ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to know the effect of Gantt Chart on the quality ofnursing, the inpatients’ satisfaction for the nursing job and the completion rateof six quality control projects, so as to explore a new suitable and effectivemanagement method for nursing job.MethodsRandomly selected104nurses who met with the enrolled criterion andcome from gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and neurology in the easternand western zone of a three A-level hospital in Jiujiang City for experimentalgroup(n=52) and control group(n=52). From May2012to April2013, weconducted the Gantt Chart management for the experimental group andtraditional method for the control group in six nursing quality controlmanagement, such as, nursing documents writing, ward management, and soon. After the end of the study, the following indicators were compare within thetwo groups, such as, the six nursing quality assessment which contain nursingdocuments writing and ward management, the inpatients’ satisfaction for thenursing job and the completion rate of six quality control projects. Evaluated theeffect of Gantt Chart management methods on the above of them.Results1. The comparison of six nursing quality control management: the score ofexperimental group is significantly higher than the control group and the differences had statistically significant (P＜0.01).2. The comparison of the inpatients’ satisfaction for the nursing job: thescore of experimental group is significantly higher than the control group andthe differences had statistically significant (P＜0.01)。3. The comparison of the completion rate of six quality control projects：thescore of six experimental group were significantly higher than the control groupand the differences had statistically significant (P＜0.05), except the safetyquality control project the differences had not statistically significant (P＞0.05).Conclusions1. Gantt Chart management method can effectively improve the nursingquality in the nursing quality control job.2. Gantt Chart management method can effectively improve the inpatients’satisfaction for the nursing job.3. Gantt Chart management method can effectively improve most of thecompletion rate of quality control projects.
