Objective: To investigate the expression level of mi R-338-3p in the serum of gastric cancer patients and study its influence on the biological behavior of gastric cancer cells in vitro. Methods: Total mi RNA from the serum of 40 gastric cancer patients and 37 healthy control was extracted, and then the expression level of mi R-338-3p in these two groups was detected by quantitative real-time PCR.Based on above findings, bioinformatic analysis was used to predict the function of its targeted genes which was further validated via biochemical and cell biological techniques. Results: The level of mi R-338-3p was significantly lower in the serum of gastric cancer patients compared with healthy control(P<0.001).Experimental results in SGC7901 and BGC823 cells indicated that mi R-338-3p significantly inhibited proliferation(P<0.01)and prompted apoptosis.Mi R-338-3p also significantly inhibited their invasion and down-regulated MMP2 level in the cells(P<0.05).Conclusions: Mi R-338-3p can inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of gastric cancer cells.Mi RNA can also inhibit invasion through the down-regulation of MMP2 level in gastric cancer cells. |
