The Study Of The Relationship Between The Objective Evaluation Indices And The Subjective Assessment In Anesthetic Rhinoplasty

Background: Anesthetic rhinoplasty is one of the most popular plastic surgery around the world.Numerous aesthetic proportions and anthropometric studies have defined the westerner,however,there is lack of clinical evaluation Indexes for the East Asians who underwent anesthetic rhinoplasty.Objective: According to the level of improvement in subjective perception of nasal appearance after rhinometry,and the changes in objective evalution indices of rhinometry measurements in patients before and after aesthetic rhinoplasty,by analyzing the correlation between those two data,trying to find out the nasal anesthetic norm of the East Asians,to benefit the nose evaluation system for clinical rhinoplasty.Methods: All patients rated a short questionnaire to measure subjective perception of nasal appearance before and after rhinoplasty.Photographs were also taken preoperatively and postoperatively.Patients were asked preoperatively and postoperatively(>6 months)to complete the qusetionaire which assess changes in subjective perception of nasal appearance.The questionnaire also evaluate our patients subjective body image and psychological states.All Rhinoplasty patients were grouped by operating methods as augmentation rhinoplasty and nasal tip lengthening,and each group selected 2 rhinometry indices to obtain measurements preoperatively and postoperatively.The objective data were measured by photogrammetry.We have chose profile photograph views of rhinoplasty patient to obtain rhinometry measurements.All parameters were significantly changed after rhinoplasty.We analyzed the correlation between those two data,which including the changes of objective evalution of rhinometry measurements and the level of improvement on nasal appearance score after rhinoplasty.After statistical analysis,the objective rhinometry indices have the higher correlation coefficients with subjective score,is considered to be more meaningful for clinical rhinoplasty.
