Objective:To research the differences and the correlation of the acoustic rhinometry and rhinomanometry measurement results between the Han nationality and Uighur adult male patients with nasal septum deviation, Try to find the objective indicators to response the septum deviation degree. Methods:We consulted the medical records of the adult male patients with nasal septum deviation in the Xinjiang autonomous region people’s hospital, and one hundred and two patients were collected.There were44Han nationality patients and58Uighur patients. Rhinomanometry was used to measure the nasal obstruction side,the no obstruction side and bilateral nasal resistance(R阻塞,R非阻塞,R总) at150Pa point by anterior active rhinomanometry.Acoustic rhinometry was used to measure the first minimum cross-sectional area (Min1), the second minimum cross-sectional area (Min2), the minimum cross-sectional area (MCA),distance of the minimal cross-sectional area to the nostril(DCAN) and the nasal volume from0~2cm,2~5cm,0~5cm (V0~2, V2~5, V0~5).All of the data were recorded and analyzed and the correlation of the measure values were investigated. Results:1.Comparison of the mean (1) nasal resistance: Significant difference was shown in R总,R阻塞,R非阻塞between the two races(table1), the nasal resistance of the Uighur patients was obviously higher than the Han nationality patients.(2)nasal volume:In the no obstruction side, no significant differences were shown in the V0-2,however, significant differences were shown in V2-5and V0-5(table2), the Uighur patients was larger than the Han nationality patients. In the obstruction side, no significant differences were shown in the V0-2, V2-5and V0-5.(3)the minimum cross-sectional area:no significant statistical differences were found in Min1, Min2, MCA and DCAN between the two races.2.The correlation of the measure values(1)No significant correlation was found between R总and the sum of two sides nasal volume(r=0.172,P>0.05).(2)There was significant positive correlation between R总and V0~2,V2~5,V0~5(r=0.323,0.255,0.300P<0.01), however, no correlation between R总and Min1, Min2, MCA of the no obstruction side nasal. No significant correlation was found between R总and V0~2, V2~5,V0~5, Min1, Min2, MCA of the obstruction side nasal, but there was a trend of negative correlation between them.(3) There was significant positive correlation between R非阻塞and V0-2,V2-5,V0-5(r=0.319,0.265,0.308P<0.01) of the no obstruction side nasal, however, no significant correlation was found between R非阻塞and MCA非阻塞of the no obstruction side nasal, but there was a trend of negative correlation between them.(4) No significant correlation was found between R阻塞and V0~2, V2~5,V0~5of the obstruction side nasal, but there was a trend of negative correlation between them. There was significant negative correlation between R阻塞and MCA阻塞(r=-0.219P<0.05). Conclusion:Difference exists in the Han nationality and Uighur adult male patients with nasal septum deviation in our hospital, and the Uighur patients’ condition is more serious than the Han nationality patients. The measurement results of rhinometry and rhinomanometry have a certain correlation, the combined use of them can reflect the status of patients with nasal function.
