Objective:To observe the difference of clinical efficacy between electro-acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size cone moxibustion and pure electro-acupuncture in treating wind-cold blocking collaterals type lateral epicondylitis,and to study the advantages of electro-acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size cone moxibustion in treating wind-cold blocking collaterals type lateral epicondylitis,so as to provide a convenient,safe and effective combination of acupuncture and moxibustion for the clinical treatment of this disease,and clinical evidence for the treatment of lateral epicondylitis based on syndrome differentiation.Methods:Using a randomized controlled clinical study,70 patients with wind-cold blocking collaterals type lateral epicondylitis were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(35 cases)and control group(35 cases).The treatment group was treated with electro-acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size cone moxibustion,and the control group was treated with electro-acupuncture.The VAS score,Mayo Elbow Performance score and Grip Strength of the two groups were compared before and after the treatment and 1 month after the treatment.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated by Verhaar tennis elbow efficacy evaluation criteria.Result:1.Comparison of baseline data between the two groups: There was no statistical difference in age,gender,course of disease and disease position between the two groups(P > 0.05);There was no statistical difference in VAS score,Mayo Elbow Performance score and Grip Strength between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).It shows that the basic data of the two groups will not affect the results of the test and are comparable.2.Intra-group comparison after treatment: VAS scores in the same group after 10 days of treatment and during the follow-up period were significantly lower than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The Mayo Elbow Performance scores of the same group after 10 days of treatment and during the follow-up period were significantly higher than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The Grip Strength of the same group after 10 days of treatment and during the follow-up period were significantly higher than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparison between groups after treatment: After treatment for 10 days and follow-up period,the VAS scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment for 10 days and follow-up period,the Mayo Elbow Performance scores in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 10 days of treatment,the Grip Strength of the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the follow-up period,there were no significant differences in Grip Strength between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).4.clinical efficacy: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 91.18%,and that of the control group was 71.88%.The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Safety analysis: There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that the safety of the treatment group and the control group was basically the same,with no significant difference.Conclusion:1.In terms of pain relief,recovery of elbow joint function and improvement of forearm muscle strength,electro-acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size Cone moxibustion group was better than electro-acupuncture.2.Electro-acupuncture combined with wheat-grain size Cone moxibustion in the treatment of wind-cold blocking collaterals type lateral epicondylitis has a good clinical effect,and is superior to pure electroacupuncture therapy,which is worthy of further study.
